I was thinking in bed last night after reading the post about MGM, and thought...what other rides could they put in to match the theme of movies.

for one...how about they change it to Disney-Pixar Studios. I agree they need more rides, both dark rides and even rides for the little ones. With the success of the Pixar movies, Disney Imagineers should be able to come up with some cool rides, involving the characters from Cars, Incredibles, Nemo etc. Yes I know they have Bugs at MK, but I am talking rides only. MGM is nice with the shows, but we also need more rides. And yes more tame ones!! :rotfl: . I am still too chicken to do TOT, and refuse to do RnRC.

That leaves Star Tours and Movie ride.

How about another ride with the Star Wars theme...

just some suggestions to help boost MGM, because I do like this park

I love MGM. I do agree it needs some new attractions, but overall, it's a good park. Easy to navigate, good restaurants, cool shops.

I think the biggest problem with MGM is it's over reliance on shows. Yes, it's a show business park, so it should have shows, but if you want to please everyone, you need more rides.

Dark rides please, if you're listening Disney CEO's. :)

While I would love to see more thrill rides it needs rides in general. I have two children that don't meet the height requirement for TOT or RNR. I would love to see a ride geared toward children. I know they lots of shows for kids but not really rides.

I totally agree.

If it wasn't for making sure the kids and hubby "got to experience the park" then I wouldn't even go. Last time we took our 12 y/o and hubby who had never been. In March we are taking our 5 y/o who has never been. This makes 5 trips to MGM for me and every time I pay all that $$$ to just sit around so they can ride 3 rides. It's insane. They only thing I enjoy there is Star Tours and the train type ride where the semi has teh water coming down off the mountain on it.

My first trip there we waited in line for 3 hours to see Indiana JOnes - NEVER again. None of my family has seen it. The show was good, but honestly just too long. Including line time you waste a half a day on that one thing.

The great movie ride....is that even a ride???? Its more like a tour of america's greatest movies.

We are excited to see the stunt show next year, but honestly we'll hit the park for the stune show, great movie ride, star tours, ToT, and RnR. Thats is! $200 in admissions for THAT. We'll leave that park and finish up the day at AK though.

Yes, MGM definitely needs to add some stuff.

MGM definitely needs more rides. I'm not too keen on Pixar stuff though. But I do think that Disney needs to add to MGM before any other park.

This is why we have decided to skip MGM this trip. My kids don't know what is at Disney anyway, so they don't KNOW they will be missing something. But they get bored and wouldn't last through more than one show (yes, even at Disney). Being 6 and 7 year old boys, they aren't much into shopping either.

I would like them to experience MGM at some point, but since this is a short trip (only 4 park days, plus MNSSHP on our arrival day), and since it is their first trip - we've decided to do 2 days at MK, 1 day at Epcot, and 1 day at AK.

That being said, I'm a huge ToT fan, and am a little sad that I'll miss it this trip.

Yeah. They should do something big that will pull everyone in like Everest did at AK. The park has an annoying layout, and some of the shows, like Beauty and the Beast, are a little overrated. I like One Man's Dream and Lights Motors Action. The problem with a show is that people will say, "I've done it already." Epcot and MK are the best, there's so much to do.

We absolutely love MGM Studios!

We do want to see some dark rides, but we love the shows, and we love the size of it, and we just love everything about it

MGM is never missed on any Disney vacation we take, hey, how could I miss RnR? :teeth:

I think I read that there's a new ride at DCA based on "Monster's, Inc." Why don't they put that one in MGM? I think a perfect spot would be at "Sounds Dangerous."

They should add something for all of the Studio Ghibli films that they produce, such as Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

MGM is our family's favorite park! My now 6 year old son has gone the last 3 years (at 3, 5 & 6) and we spend more time there than AK or Epcot & about the same time as MK. He loves all the shows, and we did 2 1/2 days there this year to get everything in. I guess our family just isn't quite as into rides as others, so the shows keep us happy. He's going to be so disappointed next time we go if they really do replace Millionaire with a ride!!!

I will have agree that the Backstage tour is just not worth going on anymore since they took out the houses, and other things to see. They need to revamp it, add more post production stuff possibly. Granted I am spoiled by the original Universal in California (love their backstage tour).

But I could also see some rides similar to say Pooh, or Peter Pan, but using like Toy Story, or other newer characters.

Actually, a new ride is on the drawing board for MGM called Midway Mania. It is going to be put in the same place Millionaire occupies now. As you probably already know Millionaire is closing in August. Construction for the new ride is expected to start later this year, or early next year with an open date somtime in 2008.

Midway Mania will be an indoor, dark ride themed after Pixar characters and movies.

I totally agree with you guys. MGM lacks ride attractions. There just isn't much to do there for kids 8 years or younger. After going through the Playhouse Disney section you can leave the park, unless you wanted to stay for the parade.

MGM is my family's least favorite park. However we loved the rollar coaster and TOT. MGM needs more rides!
