A thread from yesterday on the Theme Parks forum said the breakfast will be JoJo & Goliath and Little Einsteins starting mid-May. The poster recently had a conversation with a manager at MGM and he said that is the current plan. :confused3

DS has informed me he wants no part of that, so I won't be trying for ADRs!
It's going to be a breakfast not a lunch? I'm thinking of doing this meal for my almost 2 yr. old. He would have loved Toy Story though. Buzz is his favorite, besides Mickey of course.

Disney is pushing "Magical Beginnings" right now, so I am worried that the character meal may go preschool.

Thats exactly what I was thinking! :sad2:
We were all so excited for a Buzz/Incredibles meal. With DSs 6 & 9, we won't be interested in PHD. But, Im sure there are plenty of PHD fans who would like it. I know a few years ago we would have. ;)

Moat people from the UK would like Buzz or Star wars... according to another chat room ref Disney MGM. I have a dd4 however she wants BUZZ, Star wars or the Villians..... there is alot already for girls and very small kids, nothing for boys 5 plus.... I feel so sorry for people with older boys. As for the cleaning of Buxx etc, blimey the money they charge for a character meal, should easily cover this. If you include extra $s that will be generated from sales of the linked items, well, im sorry that doesnt seem to be a good excuse to me.

I think Disney need to remember they need to apeal to "returning" holiday makers too. Our friends with 2 boys aged 6 and 9 only do Epcot and AK now, then go to Universal and IOA, where there are much more " boy" themedthings to spend your $s on.

I called Disney dining and asked if there were going to be any Character dining at MGM this summer. She said there is nothing planned or in the works right now.

That's funny, b/c when I made our ADRs last Wed. the CM said whatever they were planning should be up and running by our trip in October. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I know I am in the minority here, but I'll be happy with Playhouse Disney or Buzz & Woody.Anything other than the princesses and Pooh would be ok with us. My 9 y/o loves Little Einsteins though(although she would NEVER admit it to anyone if asked). Here's hoping for something fun.

Looks like it's going to definitely be pre-school oriented instead of Toy Story.

Jo-Jo, Goliath, Little Einsteins...while my 4 1/2 year old will enjoy it, he certainly would have have enjoyed Toy Story much more and for many more years.

I do think this is going to limit the interest since they are targeting such a young audience. Time will tell. Looks like summer for the character dining at Hollywood and Vine (no set date as of yet.)

That's really dissapointing! I am 29 with no kids, and I would have loved a Toy Story meal. I have no clue who the above mentioned characters even are. Disney really missed an opportunity to grab $25.99 out of my wallet!

Thanks Sue Ellen. We were really hoping for Toy Story or a Hero themed breakfast. I will run it by my kids to see what they think of Jo-Jo, Goliath & the Little Einsteins. At 6 & 7 (actually 7 & 8 then), I think Disney missed the mark on them too!

I think this is a great addition to a park that is not the most "toddler & preschool" friendly. With the exception of playhouse Disney there is not a whole lot for young children at MGM.
I agree that there isn't much for young children at MGM. I would have no problem with MGM having a PHD character meal. I just think it's too bad that there can't be a character meal geared towards boys/older children SOMEWHERE in WDW.

I am just curious as to which ones you mean when you say this. My boys are 6 and besides seeing Mickey/Pluto/Goofy there is no other meal they are interested in.

even if it was set for preschool age I don't think it would be "limited".....
That doesn't mean that it holds appeal beyond the pre-school set. And that's why I'm not sure it will be around for very long. Families with children beyond the pre-school won't be very interested in this as it doesn't hold the timeless appeal of Mickey, princesses, etc. My guess is that they'll still try and figure out a way to bring Toy Story into the character meal fold, but it may take some time.

I Have 2 preschoolers aged 5 and 3 and they have no interest in Jo-JO or Little Einstiens. In fact when they are on TV we switch over to Noggin or NickJr. So I wouldn't even give it a second thought about going to the Character meal at MGM. That's just my opinion, but Disney being the marketing gurus they are I would have thought they would go with something a little more popular.

I just booked the Playhouse Disney Meal(as a breakfast, but they do lunch also) so I guess that's that.

I didn't ask for prices. We're using the dining plan so it didn't even occur to me to ask. I also have no idea what's on the menu. I was just thinking of changing it to lunch, but I also don't know what the lunch menu is.

allears says JoJo and Goliath, and 2 of the Little Einsteins(Leo and Annie I think)
ETA: Leo and June are listed. It says it's hosted by the Playhouse Pals and there will be singing and dancing. Sounds like fun to me!!

I have a DS3 and DS6 I am not sure I will do this. My DS3 LOVES JoJo but he is getting out of it. My DS6 will have no interest in this. It might be fun for just my DS3 and I to do though.

Personally I LOVE JoJo and Golith.
