MGM - Backlot Express

Where is this counter service located in MGM? I'm thinking we would get dinner here to carry into the Fantasmic Theatre with us, but not if we'll be lugging our food from the other side of the park!!

Anyone know? If it's not close, what are some close counter service to the theatre?

If I remember correctly, it is between the Indiana Jones stunt show, and the Star Tours ride. I think you would be walking quite a long way with your food. There is a fresh fruit stand, a mcdonald's fries stand, rosie's cafe-burgers, and catalina eddie's-pizza on the street to Fantasmic (sunset blvd.)

If I recall, it's right back near the Backlot Tour attraction (thus the name). I'm not sure you could get much further away from the Fantasmic show if you tried. It's pretty good food though, and the only counter service we like at MGM so...

Backlot Express is next to Star Tours. VERY far from the Fantasmic theatre. There is about 4 or 5 different counter service vendors across from the entrance of the theatre. I think I saw Turkey Leg stall, pizza stall, fish & chips stall, and maybe burger or sandwich stall. Oh, they have a fruit cart nearby as well. All outdoor seating and plenty of seating. Can easily buy the food and bring into the theatre. Plenty of people did that while waiting for the show to start.

What I liked about Backlot Express is they have for individual purchase of $1 each, you can buy a cute small plastic snack box with a sticker picture of the fab 5 on top. Looks like a little plastic briefcase with the handle on top. So cute and you can fit a sandwich and small juice box together in it. My son uses his all the time for school snack. I wanted to purchase 30 of them but couldn't figure out how I was going to fit them into my luggage. (already bought too much stuff).

Oh, it figures I pick the one place that is furthest from the theatre!! I am on the dining plan, so are the food stands right outside of the theatre included in the plan? I can't think of the name of the place, but there are 3-4 individual food stands. If it's included in the plan, then I guess we'll grab dinner there before entering for Fantasmic.
