I searched the forums a bit but couldn't quite find the answer to this. It's probably buried in a thread somewhere. I was hoping someone would know and save me some pain...

I know that to pay MF's monthly, DVC wants a checking account.
I know that I've used a CC to pay the MF's up front in January.
But, does DVC accept Disney gift cards to pay MF's? If so, can you use multiple gift cards for the payment?

Thanks in advance! :)

Yes and Yes. Some have posted that there is a 3 card limit. I would call Disney and verify for sure.

Another thing you can do is to prepay your MF's.

Anytime you can call MA and using a CC make a payment on your account towards future dues ( in any amount)

I do this mostly because;
a)interest rates on savings are so low it's hardly worth it,
b)I can spread out next year's MF's by paying now with my CC to get the DDR points
c)takes the stress of out of a big bill right after the holidays and just before taxes.

Ahhhh, I did not realize that. We're just trying to figure out the best options for MF's next year (more points, higher MF's). Anyway, the perfect option for us would be monthly CC charges. I'm not super crazy about paying in advance, but the CC awards outweigh our savings interest these days. Maybe we'll try this option. Thanks for the suggestion!:)

That seems like a smart option. When are MF's usually due?

If you're going to pay it all at once, the bill is due in January for the upcoming year.

We just have it pulled out monthly for the year from our checking account. No interest is charged and it's just easier for us that way. :)

I agree!!! Ideally we'd prefer to pay monthly on a CC. Is it possible to buy a gift card each month with a CC and then pay the monthly MF with the gift card?

yes you could do that, MA will accept Disney Gift cards as a method of payment.

In my scheme (also due to alot of points and therefore MF's) one year I paid upfront then made monthly payments, in advance towards the following years expected assessment.

I thought if you wanted to pay monthly it had to come out of your checking account? Therefore if you wanted to use a gift card, you had to pay the whole year in January. I buy gift cards at my grocery store with my credit card to get Disney Dollars on my Disney visa plus $$ off gas for buying the cards from my grocery store. Double dipping!

It does - for the current year as noted above. And you can pay lumpsum with gift cards at the start of each year. My method basically has you paid in advance each year - that way in say August of 2011 I would have made my
8th payment in 2011, placed on account to be credited against my MF's due in Jan of '12.
