MF on new add-on with 2008 Points?

I forgot to ask my guide and he's gone for the day....we just bought 85 points add on at WLV and was told there were still 2008 points he could give us. My question is, do we have to pay maintenance fees for the 2008 points? (we bought today, and our UY is December) Just don't know if I should be prepared for a double-wammy on MF.

Hopefully I'm remembering this correctly - - MFs are based on calendar year so you should not be paying on 2008 calendar year MFs ( as it's past ) and 2009 MFs will be pro-rated so MFs for Oct. Nov. & Dec would need to be paid.

You will pay prorated MF's for those 2008 pts. for the months between your closing date and December 1. Given that we are at the end of September, it will take about 30 days to close, your looking at a little over 2 months MF for those 2008 points. Congrats! I love VWL!!

Thank you!! We couldn't decide between BWV and WLV, so we bought a 75 point contract resale for BW...paid it off....and then 85 point WLV add-on through Disney! That way, we have the full 160 points, but have the best of both worlds!

Since VWL is fully open, the occupancy date does not apply here. Since you are getting 2008 UY points then the purchase date is the "later of" date. In other words, you will owe dues from your purchase date through the end of 2009.

ETA: Disney calculates the pro-rated dues based on the number of days left in the year. If you purchased yesterday (Sep 26) then you will pay 97 days worth of dues for 2009.

I agree, that is the way I understand it too. I bought my BWV points on 9/5, I paid dues for almost 4 months. They don't actually bill the dues until after closing but it is based on the purchase date.

And me as well ! ( glad I've got company BWVDreamin ) - - I posted dues would be pro-rated from October & neglected to note days remaining in September would be included as well.
