Mexico Lindo 10/23/2011 MR Cruise!!!

2 night is formal and 5th night is Pirate night

Your locations shows Big D... Dallas ? We live outside of Dallas :)

Oh.. and I dont remember the nightly agenda... hopefully someone else does.. and I will write it down this time :thumbsup2

Thanks!! On our two previous Disney cruises we saw the Fish Extenders on the doors and didn't know what they were. Now that we know, we are excited to be part of this fun activity too!

I have a question, though. We saw that there is a formal night and a semi formal night. Does anyone know which dinners are formal and which are semi-formal? I think I saw that night 6 was semiformal, but I thought that would be the Captain's Gala, and it logically (to me anyway:-) seems like if there was a formal night, that one would be it. If anyone has any information on this, it would be great to have it.

Thanks again.

I found this on the DCL site regarding Halloween Costumes:

Halloween:

Kids will enjoy the trick or treat hunt searching multiple decks and visiting different treat stations to collect candy.
Haunted Parties for kids and teens - The Disney characters will be wearing their costumes, so make sure you dress up too!
Adult can join in on the fun with a late night costume contest and party.
Spooky Movies will be shown in the Buena Vista Theatre, the Ariel Vision screen and in staterooms.
The Disney Cruise Line chefs are working their magic in the kitchen on some special Halloween treats.
NOTE: NO WEAPONS ALLOWED. If you plan on being a pirate, leave your plastic cutlass at home as no weapon, real or fake, is permitted.

And yet my son was able to buy light up light sabers and pirate swords on board during the pirate party and was awarded a Mikey Jedi pin for "Best Jedi"!! Hmmmm guess they want your dollars for the arsenal! :darth:

Welcome!!! If you would like to participate in the FE I recommend searching through this thread for the posts related to what a FE is and how to participate and we would love to have you join. Please PM me a list of your parties names, ages and your stateroom number. There will be an informal gathering briefly before sail away on the first day to finalize stateroom numbers. We will be closing the FE participation Oct 1st so please PM me before then. Thanks and hope you have a WONDERful vacation!

How is everyone posting pictures. I don't have a photobucket account, just shutterfly. Any suggestions?

Tara, I had the same thought - I seem to remember buying swords for the pirate party while onboard last time, and even the pirate "kit" we bought at Disneyland came with a sword, so I think it is just hilarious that they specifically say no pirate swords when I bet we'll be able to purchase them onboard at the gift shop.

6th night is semi formal

Unless it has changed, I believe Formal Night is Monday evening (which is also the Captain's Welcome Reception - before the Golden Mickey's), and Semi-Formal is Friday evening.

Okay, getting clothes & costumes organized - last night I tried things on to make sure they still fit! :rotfl2:

Is anyone already done with their FE gifts? Or am I the only one not even close?

Tara,
Thanks so much. I think my daughter did that yesterday, so we should be set. Let us know if you need any more information. We are Mary and Christy

On 7-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Three additional "cruise casual" nights—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One formal and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.

DH might just wear his tux again but with a different shirt/tie, or else he'll wear a suit (he's also worn his suit before on formal night with white shirt & black tie, and just brought a second shirt & tie for semi-formal) - your DH can also do jacket and slacks with a tie (I highly recommend a tie as on our last DC cruise, everyone was still very dressed for semi-formal). I'm wearing a cocktail dress of some sort - it will most likely be black. :)

I just got off the phone with DCL and asked specifically about what their definitions for "Formal" and "Semi-formal" were, and he said it didn't really matter. People will be wearing everything from tuxedos all the way down to jeans and polo shirt.

I like to dress up for dinner... especially when we are eating "in" the dining room... not sure how many nights we will actuall be in the dining room.. I KNOW we will for at least one night in each restaurant ... but I gotta have my pizza and burgers too :) It is VACATION afterall !!

Tara,

I sent an e-mail to the address you listed in a much earlier post (don't remember the post #). Please let me know if you received it or not, as my e-mail was having tantrums last night.

Neither of us have the necessary 10 posts yet, so we can't send PMs yet.

Clothes for dinner vary GREATLY! ;) I believe wear what you like, what makes you happy. If formal night sounds exciting then dress to the nines... Some do! Or if it sounds like too much work for you, throw on a tie (male) or simple black dress. It's all ok. It's vacation!! :thumbsup2 People generally don't think much about what you wear. For us... In all our cruises we've kept it simple. (we do the same for our European trips) DH always has a couple of dress shirts / ties, one sport or suit jacket that he usually takes off half way through dinner anyway. Me, it's dresses usually in black or navy, hair done, makeup on (most of the cruise I don't bother we swim too much :rotfl:) This cruise we are going to try to get DS to wear his tie, at two he kept pulling it off.
