I know that this can change from cruise to cruise, but does anyone who sailed on the Mexican Riviera cruises in 2005 recall which side of the ship had the best views in port. Thanks.

I was in room 5024 (sorry, can't remember my nautical terms & don't know if that's port side or not).

In Puerto Vallarta, I'd say our side of the ship was the "ugly" side, we just faced the port. The other side of the ship had a better view of Puerto Vallarta. In Mazatlan, there really wasn't anything to see on either side of the ship, but in Cabo, our side had a great view of Cabo San Lucas.

We were on the starboard side and I remember having great views!

hi,
i just booked the mexican riviera cruise for 2008 on the
magic..can you tell me abt the excursions?
and what port does the ship sail from? i wanted to stay at a hotel near there, do you have any suggestions

We had stateroom 7614 and had the best view in Cabo, faced the port in Mazatlan and faced the the walmart and pirate ship/port in Vallarta. Unless you're going to spend all day in the stateroom looking out it really doesn't matter. however, pulling into Cabo at sunrise on the side we were on was great. This was the only time we were awake at sunrise though. Guess that was luck.

Ok.. Here we go...In Puerta Vallerta the view from our room was of the Wal-Mart and the Pirate Ship excursion. Kinda cool.. Best view from Topsiders..
Excursions we went on the Rainforest Horseback / with a hick to a beautiful waterfall and lunch. Great excursion. If you go to allearsnet.com Deb Wills posted the pictures she took during the excursion... Her friends also took the zip line excursion and there are pictures there as well.. I recommend checking out her site she has great pictures from the whole trip.. Mazatlan doesn't matter which side of the ship you are on the port view is very industrial great if you are into cargo containers and new cars ready for shipping. Cabo San Lucas is fantastic any way you look at it... You tender from the ship... Suggestion get up early and tender off the ship as soon as you can Cabo is great. Have a meal at Cabo Wabo owner by Sammy Hagar food is great and the wait staff very friendly..

I would also suggest monitoring the boards for the west reposition and watch the ship go thru the Panama Canal.

My sister planned our trip and she picked a hotel in San Pedro that we were actually able to watch the ship come into the port. Soooo exciting. We heard the ship horn first and then saw the tip of the ship pull into port.

Have fun...
