Mexican Riviera on the Wonder 3/25/2012

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

We're going too!

Oh I have been reading your trip report from this March! DH and I are both teachers (middle school), as well, so will be traveling on Spring Break next year. We will have our kids with us, though, so will have a different kind of trip. :)

I've gotta get back to that trip report, I've been so busy at work. :goodvibes

Glad to hear there will be some other teachers on board. (I suspect there will be more since it's spring break). We loved our trip so much last March, we booked the same week again next year!

We just booked a secret porthole cabin :). We are suprising the kids. It will be tough to keep the secret!!

We had originally booked one, but checked the rate on the non obstructed views cabins on deck 2. It was cheaper, so we switched. I think DCL raised the rates on those SPH cabins. We prefer the unobstructed views anyway and love deck 2.

The SPH was cheaper than the Cat 9s when we booked (yesterday) plus we will have one in the Oceaneers Club so we think it's a good fit for us. We've only ever had inside rooms and I really like the dark. I'm excited about the SPH though. I'm wondering how I'll feel about inside cabins after having a window!?! Any cabin is a good cabin as long as you're on the ship, right?

Hello there! We are on this cruise also. We will be traveling with another family as well since it will be spring break for their son. My kids aren't in school yet.

It will be:
Myself
DH
DD (almost 4 years old when we sail)
DD (21 months)

This will be our 5th Disney cruise. So excited to be going to Mexico :).

I see there are more Coloradans on this trip :).

We are up for doing the Fish Extender Exchange if anyone else is.

We are also joining you on this cruise. It will be myself, DH, DS (10 at time of cruise) and DH's aunt. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise and so excited to be able to cruise again!

Our two sons will be 11 and a month from 9, so it is good to know that there will be kids their ages.
:cool1:

Anne - Patrick will love to know that there are some boys his age. Maybe as it gets closer we can have them email each other or something. I know it's hard for mine being an only child on these things - it can be tough to find a friend. Last time he hardly spend any time in the kids club - he was either in the pool on on the basketball court.

I know it's still a long way away, but have any of you starting thinking of excursions you might do? We want to zip line and swim with the dolphins. I know they have these both in PV and Cabo - i need to do some research to see what we like better. Anyone else have any thoughts yet?

We thought about booking the beach day at the resort in Cabo. We want to do something like that since there won't be a Castaway Cay ;).

Christine, I'm trying to think of how to work this. We are surprising our kids, so they won't know until we go to the airport that we are even going on vacation and not until we get to the ship that we are cruising. But maybe we can arrange a way for the three boys to meet that first afternoon after we board the ship? I'd love for Declan (he will have just turned 11 when we cruise) to feel like he has friends in the Club, as I'm not sure that the Edge is really where I want him to be. It looks like a ton of video games and he spends plenty of time on video games at home. Since his brother (Tiernan) will be in the Club and your son, as well, maybe I can convince him to go there to be with people he knows! Mine are both good at making friends with anyone they are introduced to, so I'm sure as soon as they meet Patrick, they'll be lobbying to have him join in anything they are doing.

We'll definitely keep in touch on this!

Anne (whose middle name is Christine, incidentally :goodvibes )

I grew up in Littleton--Arapahoe High graduate. :) We live in Highlands Ranch, now. You are definitely more experienced cruisers than we are, though, this is our first Disney and our first with the kids. We went on a 4-day Carnival for our honeymoon 16 years ago, but that's the last time we've been on a ship. This will be a very different experience!

We are thinking about a Snorkeling trip, a beach or resort day, and/or dolphins (but that seems so spendy, I'm not sure I can pull the trigger on it...). I keep reading about them (the ziplining looks SO cool), but we are limited by DS #2's age. He'll only be 8 and so that counts us out of several.

We just returned from the Alaska cruise this Tuesday where we booked our Spring Break cruise! DH, me and boy-girl twins who will be almost 13.5 years old at time of sailing. We went on the Magic Mexican Riviera DCL cruise back in 2008 and loved it. We don't care if we stop in Mazatlan or not as we loved Cabo and Puerto Vallarta so much more. Looking forward to getting to know you before we sail.

We will be joining you all on this trip. I come with a pretty big group of 21 people (so far). We are a group of 10 kids, age 5 to 13 and 11 adults, very young at heart! We went on this same cruise in February of this year and loved it so much that we talked some our friends into joining us for this go 'round! We are so excited.

We hope to be able to go zip-lining. We want to schedule it in Puerto Vallarta through Los Veranos. I have read on this board about how awesome it is. And the age restrictions are lower than the one that Disney does, making it possible for just about everyone we are with to go. It is also a bit less expensive.

Last time we had the kids do the Dolphin Kids excursion in Puerto Vallarta and they really loved it. We also did a whale watching excursion in Cabo that ended up being fantastic. We saw a huge pod of dolphins that swam with us forever! There were hundreds! It was so much fun to see. We visited a little hole in the wall restaurant that made THE BEST TACOS! On our other day in Cabo we took a cab to Medano beach on our own and did a beach day. We also went to another restaurant to have lobster and drinks.

We are keeping it a secret from the kiddos. I am sure with the size of our group they will find out beforehand, but we will try.

The day we get onboard is my birthday, so we will be partying in one of the adult areas later in the evening!

Anyway, looking forward to chatting a little!
