Mexican Riviera Cruise 03/27/2011

Just booked our excursions, so excited. We will be doing Outdoor Adventure and Swimming with the Dolphins. :dance3::dance3: :dance3: Those spa treatments sure do fill up fast.

I never thought of the adults doing FE.. how big does that make the list? I think it's great if it brings the list from 10 to 20, but not if it brings it from 25 to 50....

I'll give penguin my room#s so a list can be compiled before we go, but I'd rather not post my cabin # online.

Hi merrygirl!

Nice to see you again! If you'd like to participate in the Fish Extenders, let us know. Since you can't send a private message yet, you can just post your info here and DisneyHonu will get you added to the list.

We also have a website started for our group - it's at http://sites.google.com/site/disneymexicanrivieracruise/

If you use facebook and want to be added to our group, friend me at facebook.com/therealpenguinaddict (or search Lori Smith) and I'll add you to the "secret" group.

Can't wait to meet you and your family!

I've been reading through a bunch of threads where people have been posting items they brought, wish they brought, or didn't and purchased if they needed the item. Even if it helps you with one item you might have forgotten, then mission accomplished!!

Here's the list based on several threads:

Watch
Journal
A travel coffee mug with lid (small cups at beverage stations)
Nightlight
Over the door show holder
Sharpies
Clothes pins to secure curtains and use to hang wet clothes
Suction cup hooks
“Command” hooks (removable)
1/2 the clothes and double the swim suits
Ziplock bags of all sizes
Highlighter
Batteries
Memory cards
Travel size Downey Wrinkle Release
Dollar bills for room service tipping
Alarm clock with illumination
Power strip
Extension cord
Zip tie for Fish Extender (and scissors to cut it down!)
Room spray/air freshner
Laudry soap / dryer sheets
Baby powder (use to get sand off feet/legs)
Imodium
OTC medications
Thermometer
Eye drops
Ear plugs
Mini first aid kit
Sea sick medication
Autograph book (on board $12 and up)
Business cards with your family name and contact info - easy to hand out to friend over the course of the cruise
Pre-printed address labels for sending mail home (postcards to friends)
Sewing kit with scissors
All medications
Sunscreen
Hair ties
Deodorants
Brushes/Combs
Toothbrush/paste
Make-up
Ladies feminine products
Shaving supplies
A few hangars
Dollar Store rain ponchos
Hair dryer (lower power from the ones in the rooms)
Sticky notes
Pens/Pencils
Four cup cardboard holder (to carry drinks from drink station)
No gum for sale on board so bring your own if you can’t do without
Case of water
Alcohol (this is a carry-on - it can’t be checked)
Small fan - upper berths can get stuffy and it helps drown noise

Great list! I remember cruising in the past and not a speck of light inside those cabins - pitch black! I like the nightlight and the fan idea.

:tinker:

Anyone out there interested in keeping the Fish Extender Exchange limited to kids only??

How about some sort of "adult" exchange - maybe a bottle of wine or other item - to be the "adult" version of the FE Exchange?? :confused3

I believe some of the magic of a Disney Cruise is the FE Exchange, especially for kids, but so many families are pressed for time and money, and even luggage space, so I think it would be wonderful if we opened this up for more discussion.

Post your thoughts!! Comments!! No worries here! No pressure!! Cruises are supposed to be fun and relaxing!!

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

We are for the Adult/kids FE. Part of the Disney magic like you mentioned, is being able to feel like a kid again & experience what others write about, experience that magic, all the little fun details of a Disney cruise. :wizard: I know we have adults only (couples) who are traveling on our cruise & in our FE group so far. It would feel to me as if limiting it only to kids would be excluding those, from that experience. As far as space for bringing FE gifts, we say, think small things! Individually wrapped candy, small toys/items found in multiples at the dollar store or Party supply place, etc.. Plus, it would be each family/couple only responsible for only one or 2 days of leaving gifts. It hasn't taken me long to purchase all my FE stuff Plus.. I've already bought stuff for both kids & the adults. :) If families don't want to have the adults in their group participate, maybe that could be ok too, you could maybe just make a note that those wouldn't receive adult gifts?? Or something like that, if that would work. Thats our feelings about it. ;)

I, too, have already purchased our little gifts and can easily add/adapt if we successfully gather more people to join the fun!

DisneyHonu, if you're up for it, I think we'd all love to have you remain in the exchange but no pressure!!

As CalDisnfans suggested, even a strip of stickers can make a kids' day! It's really nothing except meant to feel like Santa Mickey stopped by and left something in our "stockings" while we were out playing.

I'd like to proceed as we have!! Thanks everyone!

merrygirl, we'll get you added.....

Omasgirls, how many adults?

Thanks!!

PS: DisneyHonu, will you please update the list? Mahalo!

Great that we have Merrygirl added, yay! Looks like there's gonna be a great group! Also Omasgirls, your groups adults, how many men & how many women??

I was reading over our whole thread for fun, and I noticed a poster early on that said she wanted to participate ion the FE. I believe her name was "basktrn"? Something like that. Is she on our list? I'm getting so excited! :woohoo: Even though I have a sinus infection at the moment.. Ugh. LOL
