Mexican Riviera: 09/25/11 - 10/02/11

Hey Sigrid! I'm reading along & I love it. It's really neat to be able to read about the same cruise I was on but from a different perspective. :) Looks like we had Palo brunch at the same time!

I have a sneaking suspicion that you and your friend were sat slightly to the left of us if you were looking from the kitchen to the back window. It was delicious wasn't it.

This might sound like an odd question, but I wonder if I kind of met you at the Paradise Valley Mall last Friday. My daughter ran into a little girl who sure looked a lot like your DD and the mom resembled you. Yes? No?

I'm enjoying your TR. Wish we could justify the pre-cruise on-sight hotel stay like you!

Nope although don't go too regularly haven't been there for a few months. How old is your DD?

LOL. I was just at PV mall today!

Sigrid, sending you positive thoughts for your husband's x-ray results....

Thanks so much. Thankfully we got to speak to the Dr last night who put our minds at rest a little as we were panicking over the fact we'd been told within 24 hours of the X-Rays that he now needed an MRI. Also got to speak to DH's boss and we're going to set up his work environment at home so that he can do some work from here and no worry about getting to the office for however long it may take. That's a big relief for us.

We've taken to going to either Chandler Mall or Scottsdale Fashion Square and I think twice this year we're driven over to the Arrowhead Mall too. Hey these 3 have Disney stores in them, plus the Apple store too (which DH and DD both love).

OK next post just done. Husband and daughter both at home and now husband's "office" been relocated to the house for however long it takes. He didn't have an MRI in the end today as we got down there to find our insurance still "pending". Oh well.

Apologies that this post is a little "top heavy" with the pictures. I just ran out of time for the editing as I wanted to get the post done.

As I participated in the FE I did a post just about my gifts. This was my family's first cruise, first Disney cruise and first FE. Somehow I pulled together the FE for us and loved it.

WOW, your FE gifts are so creative!!! i'm going on my first disney cruise with my hubby and 2 girls (age 2 & 4) on 11/13 and also joined an FE group. can't wait to hear more about your cruise! thanks for sharing.

She's 4. My other DD is 7 (too big for the mall play area) so we sometimes hit it up on Fridays when DD4 is out of preschool and DD7 is in school.

Thank you I'm so glad you're enjoying the reading. Unfortunately I've run out of time today. I was trying to do "catch up" on household paperwork and I have to pick up DD from preschool in 20 minutes. Each post has taken at least 90 minutes so hopefully will get to it tomorrow after I've done my volunteering (pumpkin carving) at preschool

goodness, i hope all is well with your husband too...

Thank you for asking. Not sure as yet. He's on a lot of medications. His MRI didn't happen in the end yesterday as when we got there they said insurance was still pending. He's now set up to work from home. I need to get used to him being underfoot all the time. Hopefully this isn't going to be too long term.

My DD is 4 too, but has been going to preschool since she was 2. We switched her to Montessori this year as she was getting bored at standard preschool. She's loving it and is thriving. It just means she's only with me in the evenings and weekends, but by her standards that is too much time with Mummy. She doesn't know it as I'm going to leave it to the last minute but my mother is coming from England to visit for 2 weeks from middle of November; and my husband's parents are arriving from England for 3 weeks middle of December so she's going to get spoiled. I just will have to deal with her bad humour after they're all gone.

Here is Friday. I can't believe the week is almost through. I've loved being able to do this. My DH just turned round and said think of all that time you're going to have extra next week without a blog update to do. I'm now thinking about extra posts. I know I have Day 7 (Saturday) then Sunday. I thought I'd do a post about the FE gifts we received and then I'd go on and bore you with our week after (it can all fit into one post I think).

Anyway not to keep you waiting....

You made me cry!!!! And, I had just put on makeup to go out for the night!!! LOL

It ends up Shutters couldn't open for us. So, I had to leave behind all those prints. But, they mailed me my CD. And, Katey (SDkt on the Dis!!!) went in and bought some of the prints for me and sent them. Can you believe how wonderful people here on the Dis are????!!!

No, I wish I had known because I worked on the basis you had been in so when I saw your prints on display I kept taking them up to the staff at the desk to explain you were the family that were no longer on board. Now I am annoyed as there were some lovely pics.

That's okay! We have the CD, so we can get prints made. It saved us quite a bit of money, actually! Our on-board bill was the lowest it's ever been!!! :lmao:

DH is still at home but the medications, in my opinion, is working. He has a follow up with the Dr on Wednesday morning and has been telling his work colleagues that he hopes to be able to go into the office on Thursday. I suppose I'll be collecting him by lunchtime but can't say anything. It will be nice to have the house back to myself during the day.

I've just managed to complete Day 7 of the TR. I can't believe it is almost over. Hope you've all been enjoying.

I am so glad you've enjoyed the report. I am going to bore people should they wish. As I mentioned tomorrow my plan is to cover the FE gifts received and then on Monday night we attended the Halloween party at Disneyland.
