Why would we get 4+"/hr of snow if it thunders? Our meteorologist said, "if there's thunder, we could get 4+" per hour vs the 1-2"/hr."

Anyone know why?

I'm already exercising my brain...

When there is a thunderstorm the rain really comes down hard. It is the same principle for a thunder snowstorm. That is the easy condensed version.

Thank-you. :cool1: I have tried to google the answer and couldn't find it.

We had a thunder snowstorm quite a few years ago. We got 20 inches. A normal snowfall around here is 3-5 inches.

Thanks for the info Hixski. :woohoo: I appreciate it

I'm excited to learn something new. *see my how do you exercise your brain thread*;)
