The metatarsal of my big toe (the long bone on the top of the foot that connects the big toe to the ankel region..I feel a song coming on!! :cool1: the big toes connected to the metatarsal, the metatarsals connected to the cuneifomrs....ah, never mind)
Anyway, I am having a bruise like pain on the top of my foot, in the same spot now for about 2 weeks. I just got new shoes this week and I thought it would help but it hasn't.....It only really hurts when I flex my toes up (as in, pushing off, or when I push on it ( I know, I know....so don't push on it!!)
What do you think is causing this? (and DO NOT say stress fracture)

I had some toe pain last year and was told by my running store that I need shoes with a higher toe box. They said that my toes were pushing up against the top of the shoe when I run and that was causing the pain. I was wearing Kayanos and they suggested a NB 769. Not sure if you're experiencing the same thing or not... You might want to get it checked out by a doctor or a PT to make sure it isn't anything serious.

You said it not me.

I agree that you should get this looked at soon. I would hazard a guess that you have tendonitis or a neuroma that is creating the pain. Better safe than sorry.

And the answer is....
Metatarsal-Cuneiform Exostosis
Yeah...google that~ In other words, no big deal!

waddle on!!
