Metal or Plexiglass Verandah, how do you know which you'll have?

How do you know if you will have a metal or plexiglass varandah and what exactly is the difference? We are staying in a cat 5 room #7538 and I'd really like to know what I bought. I thought we had a varandah that we can sit on. I didn't know there was two different kinds. HELP, please!

IIRC, metal is only toward the aft end of the ship (at least from what we observed). Since you are actually oretty far forward, you'll have plexiglass.

Actually, we found the metal verandah to be fine, but are looking forward on our next cruise to be able to look out at the ocean while sitting down.

The easiest way for me to remember where the cabins with the metal verandas start is to look at the deck plans and find the Category 7 cabins. Everything aft of the Cat 7 Navigator Verandas has a metal railing.

If you're looking at a side view photo of either ship, you can see where the white portion in the aft becomes more dominant, that's where the Navigator Verandas are. Everything behind the heavier white area has a metal veranda railing.

Great question and great (difinitive) answer! We are in stateroom 6634 on the June 22 Magic (Western) cruise and I wasn't really sure which we had. We'll be enjoying a transparent verandah! Thanks again.
