First, did Imzadi have an 'official' thread on this? I looked, did not see one.

This morning, on WGN talk radio (my go to station at home), the entertainment guy was on for his usual 20 minutes or so, going over the new movies, musicals, 'celebrities', marriages, divorces, law suits, etc. Usual Hollywood trash.

He talked a few minutes about this Met Gala thing that was yesterday I guess. He said he was watching it on TV. I never heard of, but that is pretty understandable, I don't follow any of that stuff. He said it looked like Halloween in his neighborhood with the kids coming and going up and down the street with their crazy and funny costumes, Well, with that description, I thought it was at least the minimal effort to do a Google search.

Well, I think he hit it on the head, looks like a Halloween ball or Trick or Treat Night. From top to bottom, one crazier than the next. I have no idea who most of those people are or their professions. I recognized maybe a half dozen names, the rest, never heard of them.
Look at these clothes, hairdos, shoes, everything.. Lots here, scroll down :scared1: 🎃

Halloween at the Met

Funniest part was trying to watch Kim Kardashian walk in the Marilyn Monroe dress. That dress was so narrow at the bottom
that she was shuffling like Morticia Adams! She had to be helped up the steps. I got a good laugh out of that!

No, I didn't post about this. :lmao:

In the past, I worked for one of the high-end catering companies that cater for the Met Gala Ball. It wasn't as costumey back then.

The Met Gala is an annual black tie fundraising gala which benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. Unfortunately, over the years, people have confused benefiting the Costume Institute with actually thinking one should wear a costume themselves.

Anna Wintour, the editor-in-Chief of Vogue Magazine, who runs the Met Gala every year, was recently asked if she wanted a return to more normal ball gowns. But, she said no, she actually likes the costumes. (They certainly get talked about, have lots of pictures posted everywhere, and bring in much more a lot of publicity than in previous years when people dressed up as "normal.") The Met Gala is pretty much NYC's only big Red Carpet show we have. As long as the money flows in for the Costume Institute, that's what counts.

TMZ reported it's actually the real Marilyn Monroe dress. It's a $4 million dress. It was "borrowed" from the Ripley's Believe It or Not! They originally said no because KK was too big to fit it. And they wouldn't let her alter it at all. She actually lost 16 lbs to fit in the dress. Even then, her butt still wouldn't fit it, so it couldn't be zipped up over her behind. So, she wore it partially unzipped and used a fur stole to cover her behind.

She could only wear it on the Red Carpet and handle it with gloves. So she had a replica made that she wore inside the event. I hope that one allowed her to sit and walk around.
