Messy front yards

My neighbors across the street have such a messy front yard. Let's see, they have a patio swing (laying on it's side), 2 benches with weeds growing through them, lots of Little Tykes toys, 3 milk crates, a Squirt bottle, a bunch of rocks, broken walkway lights, a couple footballs and a cardboard box laying around out there.

Don't they see how awful this looks? It's the only yard on the street that looks like a junkyard? And it's right out my window.

Sounds like some of my neighbors. The ones with the upholstered living room furniture on their front porch were the worst. Another naighbor finally called the town about them, and they were cited. They cleaned up a little, but it's still gross.

I don't understand how people can live like that.

I should post a picture of the view out my front window. There's a family across the street that all last Fall had a huge blue tarp that they used to seal in their front porch from the elements. The bldg department told them it had to go. Now I wish they had left it up. I can't believe all the stuff they have on that porch and along side of the house!

Maybe I should go buy a big tarp for these bozos.

Every time I want to complain about an unfriendly or noisy neighbor, I just remind myself it could be worse. With the exception of one family, everyone in my neighborhood makes a real effort to keep their yards looking nice and neat.... Lucky me!.................................P

Sometimes I really hate my Homeowner's Association but in cases like yours they sure come in handy.

Precisely why I will only live in an HOA controlled neighborhood! Our first house (a rental) was not and though it was nice when we moved in, the neighbors stopped caring somewhere along the way...piled up junk and junkers, stopped mowing the grass, and put all kinds of tacky stuff in the yards....

Never again!! A little "urban fascism" is good for everyone (and their property values)!!
