Help - trying to pack for our upcoming sailing on Dream for 5 nights out of Fort Lauderdale and will be on ship for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This will be our 4th cruise but first Merrytime. Is there a formal night on Merrytime cruises? I assume so, but what night? What do people wear to dinner on Christmas Eve and day? Christmas Day is Castaway Cay day for this sailing - not sure if that matters.

Would love pointers from those who have done Merrytime cruises!

Formal/semi formal nights are usually dictated by the length of the cruise, not necessarily if it's a specialty cruise. Formal nights are typically only on 7-night cruises and longer, those also have a semi-formal night and some shorter cruises may also have a semi-formal night. A 5-night cruise may have a semi-formal night but not highly likely to have a formal night.

Have you joined the FB group for your sailing? Someone may have posted the theme night schedule for your sailing, and/or given some ideas of what others are wearing for the holiday nights.

I don't remember a Formal Night listed on our 6 day Merrytime. Even with an "official" Formal Night you will see everything from "T"s and shorts to tuxes..

People often dress up for Christmas and have family pictures taken, preferably before dinner so their clothes are cleaner and fit looser.

That said, people wear what they want, when they want. You might see reindeer antlers, even on a waiter, or you might see a queen mum in her tiara.

I did that itiberary last week. This was the attire for characters
Boarding afternoon: sailors after tree lightibg (7.30pm) Christmas this was also golden Mickeys nigjht
Cc day beach afternoon and night Christmas this was the night with the deckparty
LHP: daytime bahamian island and on ship sailors this was b&b nigjt
nassau: morning Christmas afternoon and night pirate
Seaday: christmas til late afternoon (til storytime with mrs claus) nighttime sailors this was the night of Believe

Just sailed a merry time cruise on the fantasy last week. Seemed all anyone wore were pajamas. Never seen so many people in pajamas on a cruise.

On that cruise: Pirates expected on Day 2, optional dress-up on Day 4. All other evenings scheduled as Casual. As mentioned by others, there are no formal, formal nights on itineraries less than 7 days... and yes, there are people planning on wearing PJs on the 24/25.
