Merry Member Mixer

We just reveiced our vacation magic newsletter and read about the Merry Member Mixer which is held in the courtyard right outside the International Gateway at Epcot for members on Thursdays in December. I was curious if this is the first year they offered this, or if not has anyone gone in the past? What is it like? Is it worth going? Thanks in advance.

I think this will be the 3rd? year this is being offered.

It was quite fun, some cookies and cider, a free little ornament gift, and character meetings.

Last year Mickey and Minnie were together in holiday attire

This is the 3rd year.

Last year's was similar, and I expect it to be similar again this year. If anyone is going to be there on one of the mixer dates, it's well worth attending.

Be sure to wear something lime green so others will know you're part of the DISboards community.

We'll be there for quite a bit of December and plan on making it to a couple of the mixers.

We are looking to go to our first one and can't wait to meet others. We'll be there for the 7th since it's our second to last day there also.

Our flight gets into MCO at 2:30pm on Thurs Dec 7th. We're using DME this trip so if we get to BWV in time to run over for the last half hour or so of the Merry Mixer, we'll be there. I hope we manage to make it. I really want to go!

Hey everyone missy here.My family and i were not originally coming to disney for christmas.We were going to stay home.But had a change of heart at the last minute.We were able to use our points with the disney collection and our staying at the caribbean beach on dec.24th thru dec.29th.So count us in for dec 28th.See you all then. I totally agree! It was a BLAST, and so much fun meeting all of you that were there in 2004. I'll be attending on Dec. 7th for sure!

Just be ready with a "Plan B"!
I arranged our itinerary around the mixer and the tree-lighting ceremony and both were cancelled (with very little notice) just b/c of a little drizzle. So disappointing! I could understand if it had actually been raining; the mixer is held outdoors.
