Hi Everyone,

When you received your planning package from your Disney Wedding Coordinator what menus did you get? How many did you get?

We are having a Wishes wedding buffet dinner for 46 guests at The Attic. I only received 4 EXPENSIVE dinner buffet menus and the bar options. My coordinator said that we should have a cocktail half hour at least, but didn't send us menus or prices. Is that standard? Is that strange?

I'm annoyed and I'm not sure if I should be. :confused3

Hi Nikki -
When I went for my site visit this past October this was all i got too. I wasn't happy with any of the sample menus in that package. I just submitted my contract and don't have a planner yet but one of my first questions when I get one is if I can have more sample menus with pricing.

we are going for our planning session on the 5th and we were told we could pick anything from any restaurant and they will put a menu together. We didnt like any of the menus they provided

Nikki,

Maybe we can just plan a cocktail hour out on the Boardwalk between our venues and our guests can mingle! :)

We got sent a bunch of menus that we didn't like either. They had ADH set up for wedding when we did our site visit and we snooped around their buffet and stole most of the ideas. We're currently revisiting it and having a lot of trouble trying to get some other menus. We were just told to make a list of dishes that we like and we could include some from other restaurants too. We looked through a lot of the menus on the site Lurkyloo suggested to get other ideas too.

Wow, so I guess it's not just me. I just went to the site lurkyloo suggested and it's AMAZING!! You should go there too.

That's good to know. I will have to look up the restaurant menus. We can't go down for a planning session or a tasting, so I would have thought that they would have given me more information or suggestions. :confused3

Can you ask to see the rehearsal dinner/other event menus too? I'm at the attic, and I got a whole stack of menus from my sales coordinator.

Thank you so much for the link. It's truly amazing how many options there are. Even with the dessert party, there are a few things I didn't get. I'll ask about the rehearsal dinner and other event menus too.

OMG. That would be so much fun!! We are only having a mini cocktail half hour though. We are just doing a dinner reception at the Attic and then rushing off to our DP at Upper UK. Do you think they would let us do that? Even just for a part of the cocktail hour?

Are you even going to be at your cocktail hour though? DF and I will be running around Boardwalk taking pics until 6-6:15. If I see you from our Balcony, I'm going to ask Misty to take a pic of you, if you don't mind of course.

Do the menus that they give you come with prices a la carte or as entire packages? I have been on the magical kingdoms website thanks to all the advice here and it is a great place for info, but I was hoping that when you actually picked your date you would get some more.....

Nikki -

We received several different menus choices: ala carte, packages, and then individual restaurant menus as well as 7 different bar package choices and a separate list of cocktails if we wanted to have a signature cocktail. Your consultant should be able to send you more. Allears.net also has menus for each individual restaurant.

Just keep asking questions of your consultant/planner!

I got only four package menus with the prices for the package. The least expensive was $95 and I had requested something $25 less so I markedup (crossed off a lot of items) the cheapest menu and sent it to my planner, she sent it to the chef and is waiting for a new price. So we'll see what happens.

She said I could customize the menu by crossing things off and adding things. But it's really hard to do when you have no idea how much certain items cost and you have very few other menu items to select from.

I've also asked for more menus and I'm still waiting for that, but now that I've seen the menus on that site, I am going to ask my planner about them.
