We are having a 9am ceremony with reception to follow, pre-reception to be starting about 10am.

We are trying to figure out what type of food to serve. We seem to be drawn to the elaborate sit down dinner menus DFTW sent us. But is this too much for so early. I thought maybe more of a brunch-DF says no.

Anyone with ideas/samples of what you are serving would be so helpful!

We are going to do buffet type pre-reception and sit down lunch. On a budget of course:rotfl:

Thanks!!

for the pre reception i have seen other ladies do the fruit platters and chesses and such. i think that would be great and if you like the sit-down go for it. everyone is going to be hungry. on that day no one looks at what time it is they just look at what they are doing. i am sure they would eat a nice sit down lunch. btw your lunch would not start untill 11 so that is lunch to me ! :) how about a nice soup and salad. always lunch like. and even a light pasta dish and maybe grilled chicken?? i love food so i eat anything at any time hehe

good luck

We had the same timeframe as you. None of the menus Disney created appealed to us, so we made our own. :) You can take items that you like from the different Disney restaurants and create your own custom menu! They'll price it out for you, but I think you'll find it's comparable to the other menus they offer. If you would like, PM me and I'll send you the menu that we used - we chose our favorite buffet from the parks and selected a variety of items. The food was fantastic!

For the pre-reception, I think we used the first couple of items on Tinker Bell's buffet... this is from our BEO:

Array of fruits, berries, and honey yogurt smoked salmon served with red onion, eggs, capers, cream cheese, caviar, dill and bagel chips, assorted pastry display. We also included a tea and coffee station.

HTH!
