menu ? for Chefs de france

Is the grilled beef tenderloin the same as filet mignon (sp?) ? If not, same taste and texture?

I have been looking at the menu and that sounds good; plus, on another thread a poster said it was good. I don't like filet mignon. I would rather know beforehand and try something else and not waste food. I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks.

I'm not a butcher so I'm no expert...but after a check on wikipedia...I discovered that the "filet" is a part of the tenderloin. So depending on which cut of the tenderloin you get, you could be eating filet.

If you're looking for suggestions, the duck is great. The crispy cake with chocolate mousse & coconut ice cream is fabulous too.

Thanks for the suggestion. dh said he might try the duck. I definitely want to be adventurous (sp? can't think this am). But I will NOT try the escargots. yuck

Filet Mignon is simply the French term for the tenderloin section of the cow. It "should" be the exact same thing. However, this is Disney we're talking about. Sometimes they have me convinced I'm actually in Africa, and sometimes I'm convinced I'm actually in the year 2142. Or in the case of Epcot, 1982.

I am not a big beef eater but I did have the tenderloin at le Chefs and it was very good!

I had the filet and I have no idea if it was filet mignon or not. Sorry. It was very tender you could cut it with your knife and it had some sort of yummy peppery sauce with it. I loved this. The duck and shrimp/scallop platter both looked very good also. Others in our gg had those entrees.
