Hmmm, the lamb is off the menu then! Urgh, I think I'll end up going veggie when we visit.

Also, note they now do chicken for children BUT don't mention Cinderella's slipper as dessert anymore - it might still be included but it did specifically mention it before. It will be a shame if it's stopped.

I think we'll be going purely for the Princess interaction ;).

Thanks for posting Carrie - sadly, see price has gone up too :crazy2:

I used to love lamb too but glad you now get a choice of starters and that the mains has changed a bit especially the childrens looking forward to it.

I have to say I am a bit gutted - I don't like ANY of the starters or mains! :-( I really hope the chefs recommendation is something like chicken, lamb or that they will let me have a children's meal at adult prices!

Although, I am really pleased they have added chicken to the kids menu - DD LOVES chicken!

I like it very much that the appetizer now has a veggie option. It was always a hassle getting the sampler plate changed.

I did enquire about the Chef's recommendation a couple of times before the menu change. It was chicken only once, the other times different fish dishes.

I have a booking April 30. I'll make sure to check with the server and also ask what the choices have been so far (if she/he remembers). I'll also keep an eye out for the kids desert plate. I doubt they'll let me have one and I probably can't take any pictures as I am solo - would be kind of weird to ask if I can take a picture of a serving for another table. ;) - but I can keep my eyes open.

And of course I'll post an update in the menu thread. Feel free to give me a nudge if I forget.

I used to love the lamb too. Still not sure we will be going anyway as the older two DD's have their hearts set on BBWWS and not sure we can afford both.

Thanks so much Vala :lovestruc.

Don't get me wrong, I do think it's nice they now have options for the starter but the mains are not to my taste at all - veal or goose is fairly off mainstream isn't it! The mushroom tarte suddenly seems appetising.

We've been lucky in the past as DD1 would eat the beef pattie (as long as it was well cooked, first time it was bleeding so we had to send it back!). Having said that, chicken is a great all rounder for children (and my DD2 :rolleyes2).

My DD1 still talks about the slipper dessert now and again and I'm sure would be upset if it's no longer there....

PS - I read on another forum that Auberge are doing a VIP dreams menu - the OP referred it was with the VIP viewing but wasn't 100%. I doubt it very much though. Plus not one person who has been yet (albeit only a few have reported on it) have said they think the VIP viewing area is great! But again, I read they are looking at feedback and may move it if they feel it would work better somewhere else - erm, try the front of central plaza :rotfl2:... The only reason I would look at it now would be purely for the fact we would not have to wait around as long. But, I don't think I'd book in advance until I have seen Dreams first, then would book if I think it is worth it perhaps...?

Okay, I'll add VIP Dreams menu to my checklist then too. ;) I can't imagine it either. Ariel's Grotto (the princess meal in California) was doing their VIP menu for the World of Color show, but they had removed the characters at dinner time. I can't really imagine that you get VIP seating along with the characters.

I actually usually had the veal at Auberge after one big disaster with the old veggie option - don't ask. LOL I agree it's off mainstream, but it wasn't bad. Goose has very much surprised me too.

Oh honestly, don't enquire for me Vala (I'm going to be calling shortly to book some meals for our trip anyway - still haven't decided yet, so can ask then, but I agree it won't be on I don't think).

Yes, goose is a funny one - perhaps they got a good deal at the local farmers' markets? :rotfl2:

You made me curious, so I am not only asking for you. ;)

I promised to take some friends to Auberge in July and they were actually interested in the Dreams VIP thing. Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone.

Which forum did you read it on pls?

i'd like to know this too as there are only 3 Dreams menu/restaurants - Walt's, Blue Lagoon and Silver Spur - plus California Grill :confused3

On dlrp magic - it was in one of the forum posts somewhere. I can't honestly remember where though :confused3. I remember it was a chap who had recently been for his birthday but that's about it!

I've found it ;)

http://www.magicforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11081&hilit=auberge&start=320

and I think that either they and/or the cm got confused as I have checked all French sources and nowhere else anyone has mentionned a Dreams meal in there on or around the 12th or for the coming months.

The most comprehensive topic on the subject is the DCP one and the recap is on page 21

If they were doing a Dreams meal in there I'm thinking it would be on the weekly program (as are Walt's and Silver Spur) and they would be promoting it on site. When I went yesterday to check the menus Walt's, Silver Spur and even Blue Lagoon suprisingly had copies on display. :goodvibes

Don't you get much veal in the UK/Germany ? :confused3 I don't eat it myself as I don't agree with the way it's raised but it's bog standard here.

You even find it in the primary school cantines and veal escalope with mushrooms and cream sauce is a classic basic dish that you find in many brasseries and restaurants

Goose is traditional Christmas here, along with capon, so I'm guessing they are going for a festive type meal but it seems a weird thing to be eating in a theme park especially in the summer months :rolleyes2 Does make you wonder who thinks these ones up

ps- No wonder they don't have any lamb now.....it's all gone off into the Dreams menus :rotfl:

Veal isn't hard to get or something. But it's a little... frowned upon. It's the same for lamb here a lot. "I can't eat meat coming from a baby animal."

I never had a problem eating it, but my younger sister has refused it since she figured out what animal it came from. I don't really get that logic because most people are all fine eating the meat if the animal is grown up. :confused3

Goose (and duck too) is a more traditional Christmas thing in Germany too.

Hi,

we are booked to go here on 8 May with our little girl so I was having a good look at the new menu. We are all veggies and whilst my hubby and me are going to be ok there is no veggie main course option for kids.

Will they do something else for her? She hates mushrooms so wouldn't want the adults option.

Do you eat fish? I know some vegetarians do but some don't

I'm sure they can do something but it would probably be best to ring and say something now that can be added to your reservation and then go before hand and check that it's been done as there would be nothing worse than the poor thing getting a plate of mixed veg at the last minute :goodvibes

No, we don't eat fish. Will give the reservation line a call and get it added onto our booking. She is so excited about going for the lunch, don't want her disappointed that she can't eat anything ;)

Thanks so much for posting the new menu or we wouldn't have known about this until we turned up on the 8th.

I think that's best and then go in the day before and double check.

No bother about the menu, I know how difficult it is for a végé to find something at DLP and unfortunately looking at the latest offerings it seems to be getting worse :rolleyes2

Hope you have a lovely time and that you get to see loads of Princesses :flower3:
