We are considering going to O'HANA for our last night . My husband is quite picky when it comes to certain foods. Can anyone fill me in on your recent experience. What was it like? Was it basic yet yummy???? :confused3

I'd be glad to! I was there at the beginning of October. It was my first time there, so I have nothing to compare it to, but the menu had apparently just changed and lots of people don't like the new menu. I absolutely loved it. You probably know that there is no menu, they just bring out all of the courses to you one by one. Here's what we had (I hope I'm not forgetting anything):

wonton chips with three types of dipping sauce
(one was kind of herby and the other two were hot/sweet)
peel and eat shrimp (messy but yum!)
salad with honey-lime dressing
skewers with chicken, steak, or pork
mixed vegetables in a sauce (sorry, can't remember exactly what type of sauce, but I hate vegetables and loved these!)
potatoes au gratin (yes, kind of a weird thing to have in a Polynesian-themed meal, but the best potatoes au gratin I've ever had!)
great bread pudding for dessert

I might be missing some of the details here, but I though it was great. The meal is so big and there are so many different courses that I can't imagine someone not finding something to like.

We just went two weeks ago. The only thing I can see the previous poster missed was the sausage and the bread pudding is topped with a banana foster sauce and served with ice cream. Definately leave room for desert it was awesome! They also brought out chicken tenders and mac n cheese for the kids. DH said Ohana's was his favorite meal while we were at WDW. For me it was kind of heavy and I was tasting it the rest of the night, but that could just be that I ate way too much!

I'm totally with Ruzer28 here. We were there at the same time and though I had seen some disappointment on these boards about the menu change, it didn't affect me because I'd never been for dinner. Besides, I LOVE any kind of ceese potatoesand the ones there are to die for! If you DH loves BIG chinks of meat cooked over an open flame, then he'll like this. Some of our meat was dry and I didn't care for the sausage or turkey, but the beef was enough to keep me coming back(how many times do you eat several different meats at dinner anyway). It was done medium, lovely pink on the inside. YUM! I have never liked bread pudding, but because of theirs, I have a newfound love for this dessert. I couldn't get enough of it. Lots of bananas foster sauce on it...YUM. We can't wait to go back in October!

There are continuous and extensive posts about 'Ohana. Scroll back a page or two to find them.

There's also sausage and honey, coriander chicken wings. The bread pudding is served with a banana foster sauce and served with vanilla ice cream.

I can't believe I forgot about the chicken wings, they were very yummy. I usually don't like chicken wings and loved them, DH usually likes them and didn't care for these so go figure.
