Menehune Character Dinner

Pros and cons about this dinner? We are already going to do the Character breakfast and the Ka Wa'a Luau, so am wondering if the Menehune Character Dinner is worth it. I have a 5 and 7 year old.

Same here. I have Character, Luau booked and Mischief booked. I'm thinking three buffets may be too much much! I don't have many other options though. Ama Ama is already booked out and I've got rezzys at Monkey and Roy's on other days and don't plan to repeat there.

We did it when it was pretty new back in January. It was an ok experience. Food was good and character interaction at the table was good, however, the Menehune "show" was chaotic and hard to follow. Uncle tells a story that gets broadcast around the restaurant. It was often hard to hear and because you are up and back getting food you ended up not really listening and missing half the story. There are a couple of parades of kids going around the restaurant which makes it hard to get food as parents are following their kids recording the whole thing and it gets congested. For me personally, when we go back I'd rather do the character breakfast instead.

ETA: Just asked DD11 about her take on it and she thought it was good. She liked the food and the characters. She did agree that it was hard to follow the Menehune story.

We didn't do it, but did want to mention that you *may* be able to get in as a walk up if you decide to try it on the fly. We had reservations for after the character dinner earlier this week. Not realizing a character dinner was in progress, we tried to check in early and were told they could seat us if we wanted to but the show was half over and they'd still have to charge us the additional $2 per person that they mark it up for the characters. We declined, but I did notice the restaurant was not full.
