My DH phoned to say his meeting had finished earlier than expected so he would be home before 4, which is almost unheard of in this house. I thought that was great news as he could help with the homework while I got the dinner ready. Well I was wrong he had other ideas, he has gone for a cycle with oldest DS. So now I've got homework and dinner to prepare and oldest DS is going to have to do his homework later. To top it all they have gone for a long cycle and don't expect to be back until about 6.30pm, which means dinner is going to be later too. Think me and the 2 younger kids will eat without them and they can fend for themselves.

Why can't men be more considerate and see that perhaps there are things that need doing.

sorry rant over

:headache: oh dear, i would not be impressed ! but then again i would have pointed out to dh how inconvenient his idea was to the rest of us.

I wouldn't have been impressed either, and I certainly would've let him know too :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Your first mistake was you thought...assumed...if you don't point it out to them directly then most men will think...assume...this behavior is ok

Not at all trying to be ugly, but I have been there & done that & had plenty of therepy to learn & know better.

Now, the way I see it, he owes you. Be sure to directly, nicely & calmly point that out! ;)

trust me he knows. Think I will give him the silent treatment as he hates that:rotfl::rotfl:

never mind he owes me now, maybe I'll not want to watch the football tonight:rotfl2:

I do understand it's inconvenient, but I'm from more of the "life's for living" category. I would have suggested we all go out for some fun, fish and chips on the way home or a quick pasta dinner :thumbsup2 and if the homework can't be done tonight, the children get up half an hour early to do it in the morning.

Men do not think like that! He left work early to 'enjoy' HIS free time. After all he has been out earning the crust and all that - to furnish the cave! Shame on you for thinking he would join in the cleaning of said cave. :lmao:

you could always brush the dogs teeth with his toothbrush..but I save that one for really bad incidents ;):rotfl:

I Dunno, women, can you fathom them?
I finish work early, after working hard all day, as I am home early I will take the eldest out for a bike ride, great exercise and better than him sitting watching the TV
As we are going for a long ride this will give the wife more time to get organised, do what she need to do and as dinner will be later than normal, plenty of time to do it.

well, i get home to the silent treatment! I ask why and I get "well you KNOW exactly why!"

Women! should have just gone down the pub.
