Men reading in the bathroom?

I am a man. I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly for the very purpose of having ready reading material in my "inner sanctum". DW just doesn't understand.

I don't get it. Does reading somehow stimulate the bowels? Personally, I've never found that to be the case. However, grocery shopping is seriously a laxative. I apologize if anyone finds that TMI.

I like to head to the bathroom with other ladies when I am in a restaurant because I feel self-conscious walking across the floor to the obvious destination. Walking with someone else takes away some of the embarrassment.

Yup, I always wondered why you would go in there to sit and wait. Why not continue what you were doing until it was "time" and then head in there. When I go, I go in and do my thing and get out.

See this is how I feel. I don't want people to know I'm doing #1 let alone #2! Men don't care. They proudly carry their reading material like it's a trophy. I was on a long flight once and I can't tell you how many men I saw come strolling down the aisle with book/magazine/paper tucked under their arm. I mean for goodness sake EVERY one knew where they were going and what for. They didn't care how long they were in there either! I didn't eat for like a whole day so I wouldn't have to go on that plane! I know, I know...every one does it but geez it's like announcing it, you know?

I've had to play an 'away game' at our Lowe's. when I went in I was happy to find numerous copies of the latest Lowe's advertising flyer all over the floor. that's customer service. I had an emergency 'away game' happen at a Home Depot. I was lucky to have their flyer in my cart. but I was in such a hurry, I ended up doing the exchange in the women's bathroom. I haven't been back to that Home Depot.
