Men Faking it.......

justhat,

You mean you don't get to sit on the couch and eat Bon Bons all day long either?? I think somedays that my DH truly believes that is what I do!! In my dreams!

I really can't complain about how DH helped when the twins were babies. I had problems nursing, so we had to bottle feed. The NICU had put the babies on a three hour schedule and they kept to it when we brought them home. Dh grew up next to a firehouse and can sleep through anything. So, him getting up in the middle of the night wasn't an option. He also likes to stay up later than me. The way we worked it out was that I would go to bed around 8:30. He would take care of the 9pm and midnight feedings. He would then go to bed and sleep until 7 or so. I would get up for the 3 and 6am feedings. That way I got at least 6 hours of consecutive sleep each night. I don't know how I would have survived otherwise. As it is, the first 18 months are a blur of fatigue, spit-up, and dirty diapers.

TW1NSMOM,

I was sure that my twins were going to be different. I had heard that when one twin woke up, you should wake up the other and feed him also. I was not going to wake up a sleeping baby. So, I would feed one fall back asleep just as the other would wake up. By the time I was just about asleep again, the first would be awake again. The cycle kept going ofr about 6 months. I sometimes wonder how I made it through those first few months.
