Of course I know alot of older men. How would I not? The world is full of them. I can't tell you how many times OLDER men have hit on me and it was gross. My old boss (as in a long time ago not exactly that he was old) who was married behaved VERY inappropriate with me. He should not have said the things he said. Yes I was half his age. I have been out in public and have had dirty old men try to hit me. It is gross. If men viewed women with respect then they would think this is someone's daughter, sister, etc. If that was the case then there would be no porn, prostitutes, strippers, etc. I am not saying ALL men but I think ALOT of men just view women as sexual objects and that if they have a young hottie on their arm it is like their trophy. Hence the term "trophy wife". Now also I never said that any relationship in which there was an age difference was wrong or just based solely on sex. I am saying that the majority of times a much older man looks at a much younger woman it is for physical attraction.

So, a young dirty man never hit on you? Also, you seem to be backpedaling a lot of what you say because you brush things with a broad brush.

When an older man compliments me I smile and say thank you. If they are gross it has nothing to do with age. Some people simply act innapropriately regardless of age.

Not for nothing but you have a very limited knowledge of what men want considering that your dh was your only boyfriend etc. How on earth do you know what all men want? Do you think they are all wild animals waiting to rut the first thing that flashes their way?

Geeze.....Oh and since I have 3 brothers I don't think my knowledge of how the male mind works would be limited.....Look men are more visual and looks are more important to them than women. If you look at any dating site you will see that most men list how she looks as VERY important why most women say he needs to have a sense of humor, be kind, caring, etc. So sorry but I have a difficult time believing that a 45 year old man was attracted to a 25 year old lady because of her personality...... Well when I was 25 and met men who were older they also needed to look good if they were going to have a chance. So I guess it goes both ways.

As for knowing about men from your brothers that is completely different than having a relationship with one.

What ACTIONS do they need to be held responsible for? Liking an attractive woman? Wanting to have sex with a grown woman who is attractive to them? Is that some sort of law? Wanting to date a young woman who might be more fun and have more energy than someone their own age? What exactly are they accountable for? Wanting to enjoy life?

A man who leaves his wife for a woman of ANY age should be held accountable. It has nothing to do with the age of the woman. It has to do with the man's integrity and commitment to his family.
As for a 23 year old dating a 16 year old that is illegal in most places so they would be held accountable.
What about when that 16 year old is 20 and the man it 27? Would it still be terrible?
BTW- I don't condone dating underage kids at all.

I don't have a daughter, but if I did, I wouldn't think it was any of my business who she dated at 28 years old. But if she were just looking for a "sugar daddy" it would make me sad that the upbringing she got from me didn't lead her to aspire to better choices.

No I said what USUALLY starts that kind of relationship is based on sex. If I was stereotyping I would have said ALL those relationships are based on sex. Of course men and women can find common grounds of interests besides sexual attraction. I totally agree. I was a virgin when I got married at 21 (and PROUD of it) and my husband was too at 23 (and PROUD of it). Maybe because I was/am able to display restraint I think it is disgusting when I see some old geezer oggling some young woman and wanting a relationship with her based solely on sex. Even with my job (I am a reservation agent) and I guess I sound very young on the phone. I get these old geezers asking me if I want to go to Vegas with them, etc. How do I know their old because I have to get personal info like birth year from them during the course of the conversation. They flirt with me, ask me out, etc. Why because obviously they like my voice (my husband says I am hot on the phone)......is it because of common interests, no. They don't even know me. Then they start asking me questions and I say I am married and have a daughter they are quite surprised. I even had one guy say "well let's keep the fantasy going.".......hmmmm. Also if you watch the shows to catch a predator and see the majority of cases are much older men going after teen girls. Pretty disgusting. I have had young guys flirt with me but it is my job as an older married woman to draw the line because after all I would be the adult!!!

Congratulations! You may think your sexual choices are the same ones every decent woman should make, but most don't. Many people get together in the first place because they find each other physically attractive. That's actually very normal in most worlds. When I first met my husband (at the age of 26), I was very physically attracted to him, and I know he felt the same way about me. Over time, we grew close in every other way, and here we are 21 years later, very happily married.

See, here's your problem. You're the one who can't think outside of her own little world. You seem to think that men and women should only get together if they're the same age and have more than a physical attraction when they first meet.

Oh, and I guess you think that a person should only have one sexual partner in her/his entire life? Sorry, but I don't want that for my son, and if I had a daughter, I'd feel the same way. I don't believe that two people should wait to get married before they figure out whether they're sexually compatible. I believe that a couple should figure out such an important aspect of married life before they even get engaged.
