Memory maker

For those who have gotten memory maker, were you happy with the pictures? I've heard that some were disappointed because a lot of the pictures were blurry, overexposed, etc. would you get it again?....thank you.

Love it - always get it - have never had a bad picture (well, I didn't like how I looked in some, but that wasn't the photographers fault!) - actively seek out photographers - love the ride photos and specialty shots too. These are the only pictures of my husband and me together from any of our vacations. When I'm there alone, they are the only of me. Love the editing I can do with them after the fact. Love that everything is downloadable now - edited and nonedited (as long as you didn't delete or overwrite the original). Also, there always seem to be a few pictures missing when I go to download. I always check them within a few days of returning home. I just give them a call and they have always been able to find the missing pictures and add them to my account.

I think the price is really steep and wouldn't pay $150 for it again, though that's partially because pictures are not a huge thing that I focus on when going on vacation. With that being said, it was extremely convenient and personally all of our pictures looked great except for maybe one or two photographers. For the record even the "bad" pictures still looked pretty decent. It was also fun to get all out of ride pictures and I love how they add to the app within 15 minutes every time so you can look at them right away. My one complaint is that we didn't have many photographers have us do the "fun shots" like where the add tinker bell, balloons, etc.

The price tag looks steep. But the value is well worth it, in my opinion.
Yes I love taking photos myself, but I really can't take photos of EVERYTHING. And I always hate asking some stranger to take our photo.
Once you get through the park gates and see a photographer, it's so much fun to run over to them and get a quintessential photo taken with a traditional backdrop!

If you are concerned you might not get your money's worth, you can buy Memory Maker $169 once you get back home and see your pictures, but you have to do it before your pictures expire.

I recently used the Photo Pass/Memory Maker and we couldn't be happier. This was our fifth time using it. Yes some of the photos of the 1100 photos they took were not so great but the odds were exponentially for us. We seriously tried to take photos with the photo pass, we found often we would stop using our phones or cameras and just use them. We woould often stop unexpectingly, sought the photo pass cast member to take the photos. They are strictly there to do that job. I've heard the horror stories about people not using them, hard to find, rude cast members, long lines, disappointing pictures, "they only took 50 photos", all these complaints are people complaining to complain. The service is wonderful and a convenience for you, experience it for yourself, see the great photos of your family. Its your experience dont let someomes negative attitudes to convenient mean detour your use of this product.

We loved it! It was just the two of us, and the selfies we took hardly ever showed the background really well. We really made an effort to seek out photographers and that made it worth the money. It was also nice to be in photos together in front of scenery that we really wanted to capture.

We no longer do yearly family photos. We use memory maker photos! We end up with 100s each vacation and the majority are fantastic. We never go without it.

We've used it on two previous trips, when it was just known as PhotoPass+, and we also purchased it for our trip this summer. At least for us it is well worth the investment and we end up with many photos we wouldn't have otherwise. Also, as the family photographer it allows me to be in far more photos than I would have been in otherwise. Wether that is a good thing or not is debatable, lol.

Are you going to end up with some bad photos? Of course you are, but they tend to take multiple shots so that shouldn't be an issue. Also, in many of the locations they have their equipment set up to work in that environment, so chances are your going to get better photos than you would get, or photos they would get if they were using your camera.

Keep in mind, not all photo pass photographers are the same. We've had some that are so-so at best, but we've also had some that really take pride in their work and ended up with really great photos, so mix it up some. If you are on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, it can feel like they have a photographer every 10 feet, lol. If you have the time, have a few of them take you photo in front of the Castle. Not only does it increase your chances of getting a great shot, it also gives you a variety of perspectives. You don't want to be stuck with only that one shot that you have that guy behind you making a strange face or even worse bending over to pick something up, giving you a sight of something you can's unseen, lol

99% of our photos are wonderful every year. MM is 100% worth getting in my opinion

We love Memory Maker. We stop everywhere for quick photos. Gives us a chance to take some nice ones for the Christmas card and some goofy ones for us. One year sons took different funny ones on every ride (like pretending they were asleep on Everest) and didn't tell us. We still laugh at them.

Also how is the quality of the videos taken?

I've been debating whether to get Memory Maker as well. How long are the lines typically? If it's something we can do relatively quickly, we might go for it, but I'm not sure I'd want to wait too long every time.

It not uncommon for them to come up and ask you if you want your picture taken. It's less common that they ask you after they take photos, but it happens. Come to think about it, I believe that happened to us at Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. Was a little creepy at first, but glad she did, because they were very cute photos and much more candid shots because the girls didn't know they were being photographed. Probably some of our favorite shots.

Can't tell you about video quality. Our last trip was in 2013, so video was not an option.

It can really very depending on the location and what they are shooting. In general though, it's little of no wait.

Honestly, I found that I was more likely to stop for a photo, when I see a PP photographer taking a picture of a family, than when one is just standing there not shooting. Usually we're up next of maybe just another family is in front of us. It's also not that uncommon that a PP photographer will come up to you and ask you if you want to be photographed.

That said, if your getting photos taken at a character meet and greet it definitely add to the wait time. For example a M&G for a Princess at World Showcase can be a half hour wait. If they have a PP Photographer, and most do, it will add too the wait time, but if your willing to wait that long in line an extra few minutes is well worth it.

Just looked at a photo collage I have on my wall from our trip in 2011. Out of those 24 photos, 13 are Memory Maker photographs. Most are group photos, and 4 are in front of landmarks and 9 were from Character M&G.

My sister and I always do Memory Maker. The first year we went when we priced out the cost of the individual ride photos it worked out to almost be a push for the rides we were going to do. We decided it was worth it, then we ended up taking over 150 pictures that first year and we've done it on our last three trips. We like to have fun with it, plan poses for different areas, plan poses for the rides, etc. Also if the phones start dying we don't worry about missing out on fun pictures.

We had video on the last trip and it was fine, nothing super special. Can't put them in a photo book though!

For the last two year it's come free with our 21 day Disney tickets for guests in the UK, but we always paid for it anyway before that as we love the attraction photos as well as the character meet and greet ones.

They turn out a lot better than we can take with our phones and it means the whole party can jump on without having to ask someone to take our photo. Also, you can download all the photos but only print out the best ones. We wouldn't go without it.

I'm leaning towards purchasing Memory Maker for my 25th Wedding Anniversary trip. We're only there for four days and certainly don't want to miss any great shots. Besides the parks, does anyone know if there are photographer(s) also stationed at the Disney resorts and Disney Springs?

I hesitated buying MM for our last trip, and I am so glad I did. Something happened to my photos on my phone when I went to back them up and I lost EVERY SINGLE ONE. I have photos from the plane heading to and the plane heading home. That's it! If it weren't for MM I would have a handful of pictures from our trip.
