Memory Maker?

I'm making a solo trip Sept 6-16 and I'm wondering whether the memory maker is worth it? Last year when I took my parents, nieces, and nephews it was totally worth it, but now that I'm going solo I can't decided whether I'll take enough pictures to make it worth the cost.

I feel like I recently saw a thread about this. Someone who is more savvy than me at the forums may be able to link you.

In terms of worth, I feel like the memory maker is what you make of it, y'know? Like, if you are really intentional about it and have a lot of photos taken, then it'll be worth it because you'll make it worth it.

I think I would ask myself what my priorities in the park would be. Would I be more likely to stand in line waiting for rides or meet and greets? Would I want to stop at the picturesque areas and get photos taken? If I do take a lot of photos, would I be likely to look at them enough after my trip to make it worth it to me?

It's a bit of a different dynamic with one person as opposed to a family trip. Would you be less likely to wait in longer lines for a picture if your mom/dad/niece/nephew isn't there and excited over the character?

If the idea of lots of pictures and character interactions and visual memories excites you, then I would say go for it. If you think you would be more likely to be standing in line for Mickey and thinking about the ride you could be on/shop you could be in/snack you could be eating/ then maybe the idea needs a little more consideration.

I have the same question but want to know if it would be worth it for my husband and I. We recently decided that for our 5 year anniversary and my 30th birthday we are going to WDW and it will be my husbands first time ever. I will take pictures but there are some memories I know I won't be able to catch.

I'm doing a solo trip in December and I've added Memory maker. I still want photos from the trip (and since DH and DS won't be there to take them) it seems like a good option. To be honest I think I'll use it more since I'm used to my DS or my DH not wanting to stop for a minute to take some pictures and I'm sure the posing time will be shorter since to get all three of us smiling, not blinking, not distracted meant way more time to take the picture. Also love the ride photos and the magic photos --- and since DH and DS are coaster chickens I figure I'll get to ride more of the rides that have the photos.

I also sort of viewed the Photopass to be a back up in case the pictures we took with our cameras were not that great. If you have a big milestone trip (like Princess Jaz E Jaz's) it is probably worth it ---- just to make sure that you have a backup to the photos you take on your own. (BTW --- congrats on your 5th anniversary and your 30th birthday! Hope you have an awesome trip.)

I, too, want a little advice about memory maker. Going in October for our honeymoon. DH doesn't like taking pictures alot, but I wanted to add memory maker so that when we do take pictures I can just ask a CM for tons of pictures instead of random tourists. Would it be worth it for our honeymoon?

Memory Maker is an awesome idea if you plan to take lots of pictures. Especially if your going for your honey moon i would highly recommend you get it. Don't forget to ask for magic shots!!

If you like character meet n greets and make an effort to see some of the Photopass photographers at other locations in the parks - for the LENGTH of your trip as a solo - I think it's worth it. So - as a solo - I'd probably do at least one meet 'n greet per day - and get my photo taken at least once per day by a Photopass photographer (probably twice) - so over a 9-10 day trip - those add up. So - based on my typical behavior - I'd get it for a solo trip that long. In comparison, for a 3-5 trip - I probably would not buy it as a solo. You do have to purposefully use it as a solo to get your money's worth. But - if you change up the pose - and ask for magic shots sometimes - you can get a great variety of pictures.

I'm going off the top of my head here, but if you think you will find 10 or more photos you will like enough to download, then it is worth it. For us, it's easy to get to that number, We usually have several dozen, sometimes near 100ish! That, combined with the "magic" shots and ride videos make it worth it to me. Good luck!
