Evening everyone!

Our holiday is finally nearly here 13 days to go! Todays question is about the memory maker, we got it free when we booked our holiday, it is not showing up on the my disney experience app or web page. It won't let me register it either, is this something I can't do until we get there? Will it link up automatically or will we get like a number to link it?

Also, while I think about it, has anyone brought the Universal equivalent? Do you get the ride photos the same as Disney or just like the wondering people who take your photos?

Thank you

Laura x

Memory Maker won't show in MDE until after you use the tickets. More information here https://www.disneyholidays.co.uk/walt-disney-world/deals/memory-maker/027/ Its part of the ticket not a separate Memory Maker entitlement.

I have pre-ordered Photo Connect at Universal https://presale.amazingpictures.com/PhotoConnect.aspx and I understand once you collect the card in the parks and scan it when photos are take or at the end of the ride the photos appear on the Amazing Pictures site and app. You do get ride photos, character photos and walk-round photos. The only exception I think is the photo studio in Diagon Alley. This is also useful http://orlandoinformer.com/universal/photo-connect

If I remeber rightly you only have it for 30 days from first access so it doesnt show as active until you're first time in the park. It was 2 years ago we had it but I think thats right.

My memory maker shows on on MDE, I have not yet activated it as we don't go til next week, it shows up at the bottom of all my reservations, just says that I have it, that's all.

Are you using the free entitlement with UK tickets, or did you pay for Memory Maker?

I think if you paid for it, it shows at the bottom whereas if you have the UK ticket deal it just shows as part of the tickets.

Can I offer a really obvious piece of advice?

When you download the ZIP files after your holiday make a backup of them even if you import them into other photo software. I managed to erase all my photos from our WDW holiday last year but hadn't made a backup up of our Memory Maker ones. They really do expire after 30 days!

I had the same experience as the OP. Just back from WDW. Memory Maker started working as soon as I entered the parks. First pictures attached to Magic Bands were available 10 mins later for me to see on photo pass.

Does anyone know if the photos on the memory maker attached to an annual pass expire after 30 days too? Thanks xx

Yes they do expire after 30 days even with an AP :worried: I didn't think they did until I checked a few days after the expiry and they were gone :sad: I know for next time
