We are leaving for WDW 11/27. If I purchase Memory Maker today, I will be entitled to pictures taken from day 1 and on of our trip, correct? Reading the fine print " ...any photos taken within 3 days from the date MM is purchased will not be included and must be purchased separately." So that should not apply to me?

Next question-it states that photos and other digital content will expire pursuant to the expiration policy. What does that mean? Am I permitted to take all of these photos and upload them into Shutterfly, thereby having them forever?

It also says something about associating my photos with my MDE account-how do you do this? Do you have to do this photo by photo or what?

This is the first time I am considering buying MM & am trying to figure out if it's worth it or not? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I believe you are correct since you're way more than 3 days out at this point. As for the second question, I'm not sure about uploading the photos to other sites (and if it would impact the expiration policy) but you can download the photos directly to your computer and as long as you do it before it expires, you're good to go. I would download them to your computer first and then to a site if need be.

I'm not sure about linking it to MDE since I didn't realize that was something you could do till after our trip this year...oops. haha. I'm sure it's an easy link though.

I definitely think MM is worth it! My hubbs and I got over 300 photos from it....I mean yes we did seek out the PP photographers a bit more than we normally would but we got some great photos....Plus all your rides and MnGs are included! Oh oh and you get some pretty sweet stock photos as well...Which make great desktop backgrounds. My parents, hubbs, and I are going next year and plan on adding it to our trip. We want to make some memories! ;-)

1. Yes

2. No, wouldn't apply to you.

3. It means you must download the photos before they expire, because they will be erased after the expiration time, and you will no longer be able to access them on MDE.

4. Yes, you may take the photos and print them out, or upload them to a site like shutterfly and make products.... Whatever you'd like to do. I would make sure you save them on some type of external drive and back them up, too.

5. Make sure your Memory Maker is linked to your My Disney Experience account. Not sure what you mean by photo by photo. Just like you link your tickets, reservations, magic bands, etc..... You must enter the memory maker number so that it's linked and your photos will show up there when you scan your band, and the photos will upload to your MDE acct.

It was worth it for me, I got over 200 photos for 7 days. I made a few shutterfly books and they came out great. I made sure to stop at PP that I saw, and ask for Magic Shots.

1. Correct.

2. It means that when you take a picture, it's available for you to download from your Memory Maker account for 45 days from when it was taken. Once you have them downloaded, they're yours to keep and do with what you want.

3. As far as I know, there's nothing that you have to do - when you purchase MM, that links it to your MDE account.

Actually, you shouldn't even have to scan your band. Disney knows your location without you doing anything. The Mine Train doesn't even have a place to scan your band. Automatic big brother. When they system was new- the only small exception was Buzz, which was off by a car in assigning photos. It has probably ben corrected by now.

As for value, I find my personal photos are plenty enough to satisfy our photo needs.
As others have said, your MM should be linked automatically, but it only takes a second to make sure it is linked by logging into your account.
when you get back, you can add borders to your photos. I think the software is pretty clunky myself.

Oh, the (border-themed) software is also time sensitive. If - say - your trip is near Thanksgiving- and you access your photos right after you get back- you'll probably see fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas themed borders. If you wish to add any, do it, and save (download) your work.

Towards the end of your access window, a month later- you will probably get (only be able to access) Christmas and Winter themed borders.

But if you play your cards right, you can modify your photos with both sets (fall and winter) borders. Hope that makes sense!

We have sticky top of page about Looking for Live Reports and Just Back Posts . So post pictures a day after to work around that sticky and leave out any mention of what day you were there. ok Danny

I am going to be heading to Disney over thanksgiving week and was thinking of getting Memory Maker. I am attending the MVMCP on 11/20 but won't be checking in or using my 3 day tickets until 11/23. Will I be able to use memory maker during the party and do I need my magic band for that to work even though I am not checked in yet?

Memory Maker isn't tied into your resort reservation, so you're fine to use it for the party. You don't need the Magic Band to use MM (you can get a card from the photographers), but the Magic Band isn't tied to your resort reservation, either - it's just a means to access what's in your MDE account, and since MM would be in your MDE account, the Magic Band would allow you to access it.

Gotcha.. Thanks
