Memory Maker - What do you love about it?

We will be visiting the parks this June and I am considering buying the Memory Maker. It has been 8 years since we did a photo package and I am trying to decide if it will be worth it. :chat:

Also, what kind of silly pictures do you and your families take? I would like to get away from typical stand there and smile photos. If you could post some of your favorite silly photos, I would love to see!

I love that I can be in the picture with the rest of my family! As for silly photos, we haven't gotten in to that much. We will do whatever the photographer asks us to do, i.e. act scared, and then the magic picture shows up in your account. Now silliness for the ride photos, that's a different ball game. My adult boys are all over that one.

We have gotten it (and its predecessors) for every trip.

First off, I love the fact that I am actually in the pictures. That doesn't happen often in normal everyday life as I am usually the one holding the camera.

We also do as many magic shots as we can and the new video ones are really cute (especially Baymax at DHS - we're going to try to photobomb Baymax when we go back in April).

The ride photos are funny to us because we like to see DD1's face when she says she's having fun on the ride, but looks terrified!

If you do the BBB, Pirates Tutorial and Jedi Training Academy like we have done, all of those pics are included as well; and some of them are REALLY good.

The "roaming" photographers we have found were all really enthusiastic about getting fun pics for us and will pose us in different ways or in different places than the "in front of the castle" norm. Parents in the back, kids in the front, everyone leaning forward towards the camera; everyone jumping in the air together; the family standing together while one of the trains from 7DMT came down the track.

And we've found that if we let them know we have the MM, they tend to take more and varied shots.

Hope this helps.

Can't say enough about it. I love that the photos automatically appear on my phone a few minutes after they're taken. We loved looking at the days pics when we got back to our rooms.

I love that we get so many family photos, especially at the character meets. And the magic shots are fun. But my fave are the little videos that they make for you. Last time, we got them on Mine Train and an Olaf one at HS. So cute and a big hit with my kids.

Oh, another we liked: When we were waiting, or looking for something fun to do, we'd seek out a photographer and do a photo shoot. Always a good time. Find those lonely photographers with no lines, and just go nuts. Each family member can do their own shoot. or all together. Be creative!

Can you give examples? My boys are teenagers now and love Disney, but this could be the last park trip in a few years and I would love to make it fun and memorable.

My son, middle row, reading a park map during the drop on TOT:

I added the Memory Maker to our plan and have also been pondering it. After all the good reviews I have been reading and that it will make our trip easier on me (the picture taker) I am going to keep it!!!! I will probably still take some photos with my phone, but I will not take my DLSR camera into the parks unless we're going to Fantasmic or the Fireworks at night.

The photographer posed us for this one.

I forgot to mention, if you do the Pirates League, the pictures from the secret room are included as well.

They seem to snap them at just the right time and the pics really tell a story.

I'd have loved this one a bit better if my poor kiddos weren't blinded by the sun.

Not sure if they still do this since the FP+ area is so crowded now, but this was taken during Wishes! in 2014.

We went to WDW on an all-adults (6 of us 30 to 60) in 2014. My mom insisted on buying MM. I thought it was a bit too much money, but figured since there were 6 of us it was worth it. We got awesome photos! DH and I are going back this May, but just the two of us. I thought it wasn't worth buying MM just for us two, we don't need repeats of the ride photos, and I thought we'd just give my camera to the photographers, you know? But then I realized something: If it's just my own camera, I'll never manage to convince DH to get his photo taken with me so often (he doesn't like taking pictures), so I told him we had to buy it, that way he would feel "obligated to make it worth the money we spent". I'm very happy with this decision, plus it means we'll get the new videos :)

Olaf!

This is the pic we want to do differently in April. It's hard to tell, but there are 4 of us standing behind Baymax. The pic doesn't make much sense as it is, but I think the video for this one is the real reason for doing this one. We'll see what we can do in April to fix this.

This one is great! Where were you in Epcot? I didn't know they still did the fairy wings! Might have to ask for this for DH next time (so thankful he's a good sport and will indulge me as I laugh myself silly).

Thanks! We were on the other side of the fountain (not the entrance) on the way to the WS.. If that makes sense lol The photographer actually asked us when we stopped for the photo "do you want to be a fairy?"
Too funny
