Hi Disers. I'd be really grateful if someone could answer my question about MM.

We're at WDW in August and our trip overlaps with that of friends of ours. We're onsite, they're offsite, with separate reservations obviously. From what I can gather it's possible for us to share MM, but can both parties add ride photos?

Thanks!

Catherine

Hiya Carherine, Sorry to Hijack, but that also goes for me too. so hopefully someone will be able to answer. Im sure i read somewhere that they can just get a normal card from the photographers and then enter that also into the site along with your memory maker. I just think it makes it harder to look at the pictures as you have to possibly give them friends status on your magic band. its all very confusing

I may well be wrong but I seem to remember that only the lead person can add ride photos - that's why we made it me for our family. If you all rode and the right person added it it may be OK - I may have a phone no. somewhere for direct MM enquiries - will look and post it if I find it.

Sharing the MM is easy - you just need to add your friends to your friends and family list.

I am not 100% sure about if they can add the ride photos too but I think I have read reports of others having any of the linked MB and cards being able to.

May I ask a question (nothing changes there I hear you say :rotfl2:)

When you are on about "ride" pictures our only other time at a theme park has been Alton Towers and we bought loads of pictures of us on rides that can be put on magnets that ended up all over the fridge.

Does MM cover this ( I am presuming it doesn't) as these things would surely have to be paid OOP that's if Disney do them but I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Me and Mrs B are still wondering if we should go for MM or not. Whats everyone's thoughts on it?

You can get a digital copy of the ride photos with MM - you can then do what like with them :thumbsup2

Included Attractions

  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Rock ‘n Roller Coaster
  • Expedition Everest
  • Dinosaur
  • Test Track

Once you have the digital print its probably a lot cheaper getting it down in your own town eg boots or another photographic store. Having used to work for Alton Towers, even when i used to get the pictures at a reduced price we would just scan them in and copy to what ever media you like

When DD and I were at WDW in March, both of us were able to add ride photos using our MagicBands. Hopefully that helps.

When we were there last summer there was an option to purchase Attractions + which allowed you to get digital downloads of all the ride photos. It cost $44.95. Is that still an option?

No, Memory Maker has replaced Photopass/Photopass+

I'm also going to WDW in August (3-8) and I'd love share MM with someone. I've been searching the boards and still can't quite figure out how it works or if there's a thread for people post share requests. Is anyone knowledgeable about this?

Disney seems to be saying that only the MM purchaser can link ride photos, not friends and family:

I just chatted online with someone on the Disney website and she said that if we go on rides without the lead person on the MM account, we can get a photo pass card and scan it, which the lead person can then add to the account later. Ugh. If anyone has had first hand experience with this, how much of a pain is this to do?

It's not a pain to do. I'm just not sure if the CM understood the question or if things have changed. Regular photopass does not include ride photos and while you can scan it for any other photos in the parks to add to your account later (very quick and easy to do) don't know that you'd get the CMs manning the tide photo desks to add ride photos to the regular card.

Are there new cards out now specifically for this?

The way I understand it anyone can add the photos if their band or ticket is linked to your MDE account but only the person who's name is on the account can download the photos
If this is indeed the case you should have no problem and for non ride photos your party can use multiple cards which you can add later to your mm account.
