Memory Maker question...

two families travelling together. One family purchased Memory Maker. Would the Memory Maker be linked to all of the magic bands?

So if the two families do dinner separately one night, and the family without the Memory Maker got their pictures taken, would it be on the account of the person who purchased it?

As long as everybody is on the Friends and Family list of the person who bought the MM, yes.

Yes-still works if all linked on Friends and family list. Did this last year with my in-laws and sometimes kids went off on their own (to get the PP to take goofy pics of them)-as long as a magic band is scanned or the MM card you get with MM is scanned the pics will all be in the account

One of the great things about MM! Make sure that your groups are linked as "family and friends" in MDE, AND that your preference is set to "this person can view and purchase my photos" for each other when you look at your family and friends list in MDE. Then you're all set. You can be on different rides in different parks and still get everyone's photos!

My friend purchased the MM. We are connected as "family and friends" and have the proper selection made "this person can view and purchase my photos". How do I see the photos on my friend's account? When I sign into my own MDE account the memory maker she purchased does not show up?

Maybe I am expecting something that will not be there. For example, my friend made a dinner reservation which I can see from my own MDE account. Will I also be able to see the Memory Maker she purchased?

Our trip has not started yet. Do we need to take photos before I can see them.

You wouldn't be able to see the MM because she's the one who purchased it. Once you start taking pictures, you'll be able to see them. Just remember though, only your friend can download the pictures.

I have a MM question and thought I'd stick it in here instead of starting a new forum for you all... Not trying to switch the topic but if anyone could help...


#1) With pp+ we had to go to dtd to pick up our card near the team Mickey store if I remember correct. Do I still need to do this with MM? Or is it just attached to my band automatically?

#2) for ride photos/character photos, do I need to go up to each desk and have my band scanned (if that is in fact how it works - from the band) or does it just do it automatically and know to?

I'm iffy on this whole process, I just had gotten use to pp+ lol but I realize they are similar....

Any info helps

It doesn't really show you that you have a "friend" with memory maker. That was frustrating, because I wasn't 100% sure that my brother-in-law got it despite them saying they did and was worried. But they had it.

For me, my brother-in-law had memory maker.
If I used the MDE app on my phone .. I could only see photos that MY Magic Band was scanned for (not my wife's, sons', or my brother-in-laws family).
If I used the MDE website in a normal browser .. I could see ALL photos of our extended family during the trip.

I could not download (without paying for them) any of the photos, but my brother-in-law could. I had to wait for him to download them and send me the photos from the trip.

If you have a Magic Band .. that is your "link" to your photos. Either photos are automatically added to your account simply by detecting your Magic Band nearby .. or a Photo Pass photographer will scan your band.

If you get a photo at a meet and greet (or from a photographer set up in the parks) .. they will scan one of your groups bands (whichever you choose)

When you are on a ride (like Buzz LightYear or Space Mountain) your Magic Band is your link to those photos. The system detects your magic band passed by the camera and links that photo to your account. (NOTE: .. if another family member is a few rows behind you .. it will capture them too and link those photos to your account)

Where do I set the view and purchase photos option? We are all linked in F+F but I don't see a spot to share the photos, and when I click on the general memory maker page it just wants me to buy a new one.

I'm not sure I'm catching your question right - I'm assuming you are not yet on your vacation and are just making sure you are set up properly. If so:
Go into your MDE account
Look at your Friends and Family list
Edit each person, and choose the "this person can view and purchase my photos" option
I think your choices of settings vary depending on whether the person has their own MDE account (I.e. Your sister on the same vacation and she has an MDE account, vs. her children on the same trip who do not have their own accounts)
