Long time Disney goer on a budget so I never got the photopass/memory maker before...

But this time, since its only hubby and I there was a little extra money in the budget & I decided to splurge....but i'm having second thoughts..

Are there really that many photographers at the parks? (I never pay attention because I'm usually too busy taking my own pictures)

Does each character meet & great have a photographer? Ride photos will be a plus as I've never been able to afford more than 1 of the family.

I just got back almost two weeks ago and my mom bought the memory maker so we could have all the pictures (mainly because I proposed to my girlfriend, now fiancé) and we got all the pictures that the CMs took and the ride ones as well. Unfortunately for the character meet and greets they don't have a photographer so we had to take those on our phones. It was worth it in my opinion because you can go and download every picture from their website during or after your vacation, especially the ride photos!

There are plenty of photographers around the parks. Some of the characters have photographers, but others don't. Be sure to ask for magic shots!!! So much fun!!!!! Have fun!

There are a lot of photographers. We had no problem finding them, and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so to get a special shot. We ended up with over 300 photos in 5 days, with the free Disney ones thrown in.

Our outdoor photos were the best. Be sure to get lots of those. The lighting is better. And definitely ask for the Magic Shots. I would do a google search on Magic Shots and see what other people have done. I thought the photographers would give us good ideas, but instead they usually asked what kind of magic shot we wanted. I did not know what to tell them. Some of them are only set up to do certain ones, though.

I found downloading the photos to be time consuming. Be sure to start that process early.

I love the idea of the ride photos, but sometimes we got the wrong ones. :( We have someone else's Buzz Lightyear. Check the photos on your smart phone the day you get the ride photos so you can fix the problem at the park. We waited too late.

Yes, there are a lot of photographers. If you sign on to the MDE app, you can even see where they are in the parks.

Click on photopass, and then select a park. Below, I chose MK. You can also pull up the other parks.

There are photographers with majority of the characters. I think Mary Poppins and Terk, are not allowed to have them, because of copyright.

I came away with over 250 really good photos.

I like it especially when you get to watch the video of your self ridding the mine train . Awesome stuff

I don't understand this. All of the character meet And greets we went to had camera and used your band to add it to mm. Did something change?

I should have clarified that the meet and greets I went to where in the restaurants, such as Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys.

We got loads of pictures, but my regret it not stopping at every PP photographer... we'd have easily tripled what we had...

We purchased it several years back and didn't really get many pictures, and didn't like those that we got. We were able to cancel the purchase and get a refund when we got home. Not sure if things have changed since then, this was back in 2004ish.

There are lots of photographers in the parks. If you use your MDE app....it will list all the photo spots. I agree that the outdoor photos are the best. All the main character meet and greets have a photographer. They also take several shots like the hugs before you pose....(see my thumbnail) We even ran into a photographer at Downtown Disney in front of the Lady & Tramp topiary. Our past 2 trips, we were in the WDW parks only a couple of days. We did a MM share and got lots of photos. We love the ride photos even though they are not very clear when you zoom in on yourself. Search online and you can find where the camera is located on each ride. Strike that funny pose! Also ask for the Magic Shots!!!!! Last Christmas we put all our photos together in a book (Walgreens) and gave it to my mother for Christmas.

It's not worth it for us to pay full price for MM since (except for a few rare occasions) it's always just us. A couple of times we shared a MM thing with family, we ended up with dozens of pictures but I only printed a couple for me to scrapbook. It's not like we are going to print all 100-200 pictures and put them in an album or anything. Luckily, we are pretty good at taking selfies* so we can get pics of the two of us anywhere we want.

But, the last time we did the MM thing, there were so many more photographers, even in Downtown Disney.

*we're both in the picture, so it's not technically a selfie but I don't know what to call it.

We got MM for our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. We had some wonderful shots, and one of the AK was SO nice. She saw our just married buttons and had us step to the side and did some pictures of us and got shots of our rings and buttons. It was truly some great pixie dust.

If I was just going for a short getaway weekend, I might not splurge on it. But for a longer vacation I would. After all, how many photos do you have from vacation of one person or the other, and don't actually manage to get both of you in the shot? Maybe I'm the only one, but I feel like that's how our vacations always end up!

I purchased it for the first time on my last trip. Yes it was only 2 of us but we stopped at every photopass photographer we saw. I think we came home with over 500 pictures, which ended up being more once I spent a couple hours (while catching up on tv) editing them adding borders and stickers. I think if I went with a bigger group in the future I might get it again but probably not with only two of us - not that I regretted it.

We noticed more MM photographers this year over last summer. TL had a a lot more than BB we noticed. We got 304 as a couple.

We really enjoyed having Memory Maker on our last trip. All the character meet and greets had a photo pass photographer except for one(Stitch in Tomorrow Land). LOVED getting all the ride photos and video! I ended up using a lot of them in the photobook I made through Shutterfly. Even budget conscious fiancé says we should get it for our next trip as he loves the quality of them and the magic shots. We would stop at the MM booth in our resort every few days to make sure our ride photos would be there as well in case we needed to ask them to retrieve them if they were missing. I think we were missing one ToT but that was when we rode it three times and we had the other two so I didn't worry about it. It's really what you feel comfortable with though.

Thanks everybody! I have to say you have all convinced me to keep it. and thanks for the tip that the photographers are on the ME. good to know. I guess I need to brush up on what all ME can do for me. and thank you for sharing the magic shot concept. very cool indeed! Dis is just another version of pixie dust for me. :)

992 photos from my September trip. All characters that have a schedule in the times guide had a photopass photographer. The ones without times posted in the guide were hit or miss. The only photograhpers we saw at meals were OUTSIDE at the tuskerhouse breakfast, Chef Mickey before you go in to dine, BOG with the Beast, ohana photographers followed Stitch. No photographers at Garden grill or Crystal Palace.

Definitely ask for the magic photos. We were shy in the beginning and didn't ask, but as the trip progressed, we asked. We have tons of them.

There we a lot of photographers in the World Showcase -- ihave great photos from Mexico, Germany, Japan, France in two locations. The Morocco photographer had a strangely long line so we skipped that one. I didn't see one in Norway, China (other than with Mulan), Italy, USA, England (other than Mary Poppins & ALice) I don't think I looked in Canada.
