Considering doing/ adding memory maker. So basically if we buy in Advance for $149, I get the premise of them taking pics for us throughout our stay at resorts and parks where ever a WDW photographer is avail or at. What I don't understand is do we have access to all those pics as to take them and download and than we can print/order from say Walgreens or Walmart or do we have to order the pics from Disney at an additional cost ???

Thanks Jim

It includes a release (that you download separately) allowing you to print the photos however you choose. You can also edit and add borders and effects (I always 'Make a copy' using the button provided for your edits so you have all the originals) and download the customized photos as well as some stock photos. Make sure to download all photos before they expire online and you're good to go. For long trips, we love the service!

Also, for those going on shorter trips or maybe not interested in _all_ your pictures: We just learned that you can buy a single day Memory Maker for $60.

You also get access to all of your ride photos and videos where available. You can download all of them for free and print them wherever you like.

Hi, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I was wondering how the ride photos work. I love the idea of not getting caught up in the mini mosh pit in front of the ride photos, and just knowing that I can access them all later online. But how do these photos get linked to my account? Do I need to select which rides? Or scan my magic and somewhere so that they know which "car" I want the photo for? Thanks!

If you decide to add, make sure to ask for magic shots when you stop to get photos. For example, on Main St., they can take a photo where they will ask you to put out your hands and look down, and when you see the photo later, Tink will be in your hands. There are different ones in each park and in various locations throughout. Many photographers can do them, and if not will usually refer you to another who can. They cannot do them on tripods or at nt.

Thank you @nllarson ! Do I notify them before the ride that I have MM so that I can scan my band? Or does everyone scan their band before riding? Sorry, this is my first trip with MM and with using magic bands.

@disneylove16 no need to notify. They just get added to your account, no scanning or anything. Just by getting on the ride, you get the pics added, they know where you sit / which car you are in. It is really pretty cool! You can see them usually after a few hours goes by on your MyDisneyExperience app. But really, we wait until we return home to download them all and make prints / books / etc.

There are even cool videos and such that they don't offer at the park station, automatically added to your MemoryMaker.

If you don't sign up for MM in advance, are the cool ride photos still on your photopass account?

@yellownovawife I don't think it has anything to do with how early you sign up. They are added to your account even if you don't have MM, you just then have to pay a package price to download I think.

The only advantage you get for signing up for MM before you go is that it gives you a price break.

All the photographers, ride photos, photobooths, anywhere they have a photopass picture option is free for all guests.. Then you have to pay for the pictures you want a copy of which you can do online after the trip. You can just download the digital copy, buy prints or buy it in another form (like on a coffee mug, calendar, etc). The print and collectible options do include the price of the download (and you get the digital download).

Memory maker has 3 options. Buy it before you go for a discount, buy it after you go for more money or buy it for 1 days photos after you go. Memory maker gives you unlimited downloads for a short time period of all the photos in your photopass (photos expire also and disappear). It's a digital photo, you can do what you want with it as far as print it out, use another shop to print it, etc... You can also purchase photos one at a time to download.. If you are buying prints or collectibles with the photos printed on them from disney, memorymaker reduces the price because you need to buy the photo then purchase it printed. MemoryMaker is buying the download of all photos for 1 price and that is extended to these other options.

If you pre-purchase memory maker with less than 3 days before your first photo, you will not get the photos from those first day(s) until it's 3 days after purchase. In that case, don't buy it until after you get home as a day or two of photos baught individually is more than the after trip memory maker price.

You also pick when your memory maker starts so if you get back, decide you didn't like most of the pictures and you want to just purchase the couple you do like it will stay in your account for a future trip, even if it's many years from now.

The average photopass photographer will probably give you 2-5 photos when you stop. Rides that have it will give you one. Some rides will give you video (considered 1 photo).

Something else to consider if your taking a long trip is Annual Passes now include free downloads which last much longer, and the photos don't expire as fast. Factor in the memory maker price to what it might cost to upgrade 1 person on your trip to annual pass. In additional to the free downlaod, you also get the discounts on merchandise, some food locations and sometimes better room deals. Generally if your going to use 10 park tickets in 1 year and plan to get memory maker at least once, you'll save money if you remember to tell everyone your handing money too that you have an AP and ask if they offer a discount.

This mostly works but on Test Track we got another family's pictures and I assume they got ours (we didn't). By the time we noticed after our trip, I'm sure it was way to late to do anything about it. The interesting thing is that we were a party of 5 with 5 MBs and there are 5 copies of each ride picture in our account. All 5 are of the other family. So I'd suggest that if there is a ride that's really important to you to have a picture for, you get in the mosh pit and tap yours.

In a related note, some of my photopass pics are either out of focus or have poor exposure. I can fix that with image manipulation software but is there any way to re-upload them to put borders or stickers on the fixed versions? I know you can upload pics for making photobooks through Disney but I can't see a way to just upload them for the borders and stickers.

It's not too late..

Basic faq: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/memory-maker/missing-photos/

Report missing photos: https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/help-and-support/lost-media (give tem a lot of detail like if you have a photo from the ride but it wasn't your family it gives them a place to look ahead or behind to see if your family is there). I like to get a family photo early on so they have reference of what we look like if they need to find them after we get home.

Oh yay! Thank you very much @Accident. I'll give that a try!

This is ALL great information! Thank you for taking the time to share it!:worship:

reading more of the thread there seem to be some confusion on how to use the bands to get your photos...

You use a magicband or your hard ticket to claim your photo.
- In the event something happens and you don't have either, you can ask for a photopass card which all photographers (and the CM at the end of the ride near the screens) can give you.
- You just link that card # to your account when you have a moment and the photos will appear.
- Some parties and events have printable tickets and you have neither, this is a good time to get a photopass card. If you select will call and stop to get the ticket that card (aka hard ticket) will work for photopass and it's the same as a normal day ticket for photo claiming.

For rides:
- if you are using a hard ticket, you must go up to the screens after the ride and use your ticket to claim the photo by tapping it against the screen.
- if your all in the same MDE account or have your MDE accounts linked together, only 1 person needs to scan if using a card.
- MagicBands all rides automatically claim your photo and nothing special to do.
- There are a couple videos that do not have these screens at the end (seven dwarves mine train is an example) and you must have a magicband for those photos.
- A couple rides (7dmt and tower of terror for example) have videos of your riding them, those already require a magicband.
- If your anxious that some photos might not get automatically linked, you can scan at the end of the ride with your magicband to ensure it's claimed for you.
- If you dont see a photo on the screens, the photos are moderated and check with a CM what happened to the photo. If something went wrong or they can't allow you to have the photo they will let you ride again with no wait to get another photo on the ride. If someone in your group did something obscene or non-disney like and that's the reason, they may not allow them to ride again (aka don't do something obscene for the photo to get a second no wait ride, you wont' right on and have to wait in line again).
- Photos appear in the MDE app fairly quick if you want to verify after a ride and not use the screens or if the ride doesn't have screens.

For photographers:
- Take your pictures, they will scan your card or band (or give you a card if needed and scan that) for everyone that wants the photos.
- if your all in the same MDE account or have your MDE accounts linked together, only 1 person needs to scan

For photobooths (not many and they move, sorry can't tell you where they are today but check around arcades, boardwalk resort and keep your eyes opened):
- scan your band/card and take your photo. (there is instructions in case this changes on the booths)
- some might be able to accept money, this is for immediate prints and money is not required to take your photo.
