Memory Maker for large group--questions

We are going in October as part of an extended family of 24 people (six individual families). My husband and I purchased Memory Maker for the group and I am the "owner". I believe we are all linked correctly as family and friends.

My questions involved how people handle the photo distribution after the trip. I'd rather not share my log-in information with everyone. So my plan is to create a Shutterfly share site and upload all the MM pictures to it. I would invite everyone else to upload their personal pictures as well. Has anyone done this? Any tips? I'm hoping that we'll each be able to create our own photo books, order prints, etc from the share site.

I was also thinking about offering to put the MM pictures on flash drives for people if they provide me with one. Has anyone done this? What size flash drive would I need? (for several hundred pictures)

Thanks!

Well, when you view your memory maker you can click a link to generate download links, they are broken into a few files to download and it says how big each file is before you download it. The best thing to do would have been to create a second disney account, link everyone as friends to that account, buy a memory maker under that account and give everyone the login. You can edit all the pictures, add borders etc through their online tools which is really cool but your family won't be able to do that unless you give them your login. Depending on how many edits you do the size flash drive you would need would be variable because each edit saves a new picture. I would think that with that many people going a 16gb flash drive would be ok. Uploading the pictures would be a huge pain because then the people would be forced to download them individually I would guess which would mean downloading like 100 separate files

Good points, thank you!

With so many people, I think I would go crazy having 24 friends and family in my regular account plus in a dummy account, although for MM purposes I'm sure that's best. I'm not sure that they're interested in adding borders and things, but maybe we'll have a little editing party at my house after the trip. Sounds like the flash drives might be easiest for them.

I usually split up photos by family into individual folders, upload those to a file storage site (I use OneDrive, though others like Google Drive should work similarly), and then share each folders link with the specific family.

This way you don't have to share login information, and each family only has access to their own photos
