My family's fav. Disney souvenir is the disney photo book that can be order through the photopass website.
Since Every trip we have taken as been 10+ days we have always ordered memory maker (pervious photopass CD). And created a photo book..

Recent We have booked a last min 7 day trip..
Will I still need to order memory maker to get access to all the photos (rides, meals, photopass photographer) So I can add them to a disney photo book??

You still need Memory Maker to get all your photo downloads. The only other way to get them is through individual purchase for $15 each, so if you're buying at least 12 pictures, you're better off buying MM. Then, you can use the downloaded photos to print for a hand-made photo album, upload to a photo site like Shutterfly to make a book, or make the book on Disney's site.

So if I'm understanding this right..
to get access to all my photopass pictures to create a disney photo book ON the disney photopass website
I have to pay $169.00 for memory maker and another $80 + shipping for the Photobook??
That's $250 + shipping just for disney photobook! OUCH!
(Since its a last min trip.. I'm not intrested in any prints, just the disney photopass photobook)

Nope, not at all. Memory Maker simply entitles you to downloads of any pictures in your Photopass account. If you don't want the downloads, you don't need to buy it. You can still order prints, ornaments or other products from Photopass without having purchased Memory Maker. If you want to make the book at Shutterfly, or get things made anywhere other than Photopass you would either need to either pay for the individual downloads, or purchase Memory Maker to get every download.

I didn't purchase MM for our last trip and we ordered a photo book instead. We even got a nice little 30% discount with a coupon code. A much better deal than MM I think! We got all of the photos taken throughout the week put into our book!

Thank you! That's sounds much better.. I know disney photopass photobooth are already high price, but $250 would be WAY out of our budget!
Did you also get access Ride and meal photos as well? To use in the book?

Yes, you have access to everything! Ride photos were the main reason we got the photo book - almost all the other photos we had copies of with our own cameras.

I got home from my trip last week. I also have some pictures from my October trip in my photo pass. Can i buy the memory maker TODAY and still get the pictures that are in there now??? Thanks!

If you are planning to do a book from Disney, then do not buy Memory Maker. You can use all your photo pass photos for free in their book. If you want to do your book later than PP+ timelines allow, or use another vendor like Snapfish or Shutterfly, then you have to buy the rights.

I have been trying to convince people for months that this is often cheaper, but half the planet is like "but I had 6 trillion photos on my MM for the $169..."

Disney does a great job promoting MM.. Photobooks not so much..

On previous trips 10+ days MM was worth it.. There were ALWAYS tons of photos we wanted.. But since this trip we only plan on spending 5 days in the parks, I really don't think its worth it as we won't be taking that many photos.
It's hard enough to get my little one to stand still for a photo, let alone have everyone looking at the camera! I swear at least 1/4 of my MM one family member or more is not looking..
1/4 of 500+ On our 10 day trip photos is not to bad, 1/4 of 200 I dont want to waste the money..

However for us the photobook is ALWAYS worth it! .
As long as I don't have to buy MM just to get access to the photo to make it..

Hijacking the thread a bit with a memory maker question. If you buy in advance should I see it already linked with our Disney Experience account? Ours is not but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do so with just the confirmation number (It keeps saying we need a # off the back of a photopass card, which obviously we won't habe). I'm assuming maybe we need photos first from photopass so things won't link until we actually take our first photo perhaps?? (First time we've ordered in advance)

If you purchase the full priced Memory Maker you are entitled to downloads of any pictures that are still active in your account at the time you do the downloads.
