Memory Maker and Ride Photos?

I'm weighing the pros and cons of the memory maker and I have a question:

To add a ride photo, will I have to stand in line behind everyone at the photo purchase counter just to tap my magic band and add my pic?? Or is there a special line just for people adding ride photos to their MM account??

Also, for those of you who have used MM, is it worth it? Were any of your photos "lost"?

Any advice on MM is appreciated! :)

TIA:thumbsup2

It was worth it for us (we used it when it was still Photopass+ but it's essentially the same product).

We used to always buy the regular Photopass.
We do a lot of the thrill rides
We do long stays.
We always used to buy at least 2 ride photos per trip.
We also to a meet and greets so you get all those photos too
So you can see how it worked for us.

Yes, you have to stand in the line and when we last used it there was no dedicated line. You can collect your stubs of paper with your ride number on if you are going to ride that attraction again later and just make one stop. We never waited unreasonably long, sometimes had little to no wait.

A couple of our ride photos were 'lost' but each one of those was because we lost our stub with the number on :rolleyes1 not through any fault of Photopass, the CM's or the system.

You will have to wait in the photo line at the end of the ride to add the photos to your account. No where else can do it and there are no separate lines for MM.

I have purchased Photopass collection in advance for all trips. I always think it's worth it. I have no clue if any photos were lost. None I was expecting to see were lost, that much I'm sure of.

I did have 1 Magic Shot missing the "magic" but it was added with one email to Photopass officials. Easy peasy.

Is it worth it? Not to me personally. I actually am not a fan of ride photos. I never want them. I opt for the traditional Photopass disk instead. It only save $30 but it's not about the money so much it's just that I don't want ride photos.

If I was doing any of the other options included in MM, PL or select meals, then yeah, I'd go on and swing for MM. But we aren't on the next trip.

While you do wait, I never found the wait to be long at all. We have always done photopass, and once the plus (now MM) came out, it was an even better deal as I never felt it was worth it to buy the ride photos.

We had to wait in line, but there were never very many ahead of us. (1-2 at most.) This was March 7-14, so the beginning of Spring Break crowds.

At a couple of rides there was someone standing off with an iPad who pulled us aside to add the pics to MM. (I remember that happening at EE and I think maybe at Tower of Terror.)

We just got back this week and had memory maker. No pictures appeared to be "lost." All of my family members scanned their bands when adding the photos. In addition to our magic bands, we also used the memory maker card we were sent when scanning. The lines to add the ride photos were never bad by any means... at worst a couple people deep. All in all I am glad we purchased it. We got some great family shots! :thumbsup2

We were there March 2-7 and we did not have to wait long except for Space Mountain. There was only one CM working. The person ahead of us was purchasing their pictures and could not decide on which package to get. We waited for over 10 minutes for her to decide, but once she was done, it was a quick scan of the magic band and we were off. My wife made a joke that it took longer for us to get the picture added than it did for us to get on the ride.

space has been my one constant problem location. Seems like that is location where my pictures get lost or it take FOREVER to scan card/band.

Thanks everybody!! I think we're going to go for it... I told my DBF I wanted it, and even though he HATES stopping for photo pass photographers :rolleyes2 he agreed he would oblige, just for me!! Haha::yes::

Hopefully, in the future, Disney will create a kiosk where you can add your ride photo to your MB without standing in the regular line ... I've waited behind indecisive people, and maaaaybe I've actually been one of the indecisive people, too ;)
