Who sleeps with these?

Bought new pillows about 2 months ago(the traditional kind), but they are not working out. I can no longer sleep with 2 pillows since I hurt my back in Feb. But sleeping with 1 feels like no pillow at all:sad2: and its supposed to be an extra firm pillow.

So tell me the pros and cons of these memory foam pillows.

TIA

I have a Tempurpedic neck pillow that I love love love. I've had it for about 6 years and it's still as good as new. It was expensive but well worth it. They come in different styles according to your sleeping style and height. A few years ago I picked up some memory foam pillows from Costco. They aren't nearly as good.

We have two King sized Temperpedic pillows that we absolutely hate. Not comfortable, too hot. They were quite expensive and they are next to impossible to get in/out of pillowcases.

The pro is that they make great door stops. :rotfl:

Memory foam pillows are the only ones this family uses!!

They mold to your head and are sooo comfortable.

A negative is that they are heavier than a traditional pillow.

We never have trouble with them getting too hot.

We have been using them for over 10 years and when we stay at hotels with "regular" pillows we have trouble sleeping.

We buy whatever brand I can find. We like the traditional style of memory foam pillow, not the one with the dips and stuff in it.

I've had the Temprapedic neck pillow for 15 years, the same one!
and still love it. We just recently had to replace our 15 year old temprapedic matress, but my pillow is still good.

I've been on the quest for the "perfect" pillow for years! The only one that I've found that even comes close to what I like is the sleep number pillow. It's like a little pillow inside a bigger "shell" and you can customize each piece. Expensive, but considering all that I've purchased and thrown out, it's a bargain.

I hate them. They are heavy, mold like clay and they are hot. We got one free with our mattress and DH and I both refuse to use it. I hate memory foam mattresses for the same reasons-hot, don't allow easy movement-lumpy. I keep threatening to throw it away-the pillow-but our cat loves it. I like the idea of using them for door stops. I also HATE trying to get it into a pillowcase. Awful!

I have a combo one that I LOVE. It is memory foam in the middle and is wrapped in down. I gives me a ton of support and works great no matter what possition I sleep in. It does not get hot either.

I've been suffering from tension headaches (have seen 3 doctors to confirm diagnosis) and one suggested that bad pillows might be part of the issue. I borrowed a friend's memory foam pillow overnight to give it a "test run".

Oh my gosh--I've never slept so well in my life! I went right out the next day to buy the same pillow! 130.00 was steep for my wallet---but so worth it!

Can I ask what brand and where you got this from?

I wouldn't even know where to find the traditional style of memory foam. All I've ever seen is the dips type.

I bought 2 of the Cannon 2 in 1 memory foam pillows and I love them!

I suffer from migraines but it seems like I'm not getting them as often since switching to the memory foam pillows.

TC :cool1:

We have them and they are the most comfortable pillows ever!

I hate hot pillows but I have never had a problem with that at all. I am like a kid when it comes to my pillow, I take it every where we go when we travel. I don't think I could ever go back to a regular pillow again.

My mother has the mattress and I would love that too! Maybe one day.:upsidedow

I had a memory foam pillow and HAD to wash it. Very Bad Idea.

It took me forever to find another comfortable pillow. Finally found the perfect pillow at Sam's Club. It is the Serta Gel Memory Foam Gusset Pillow. It comes in a two pack. It is just the right balance of firmness and softness.

I need two pillows to sleep, but stacking them is too high. I use a regular pillow on the bottom and prop it up against the head board. This way it is not flat. I then prop my main pillow against the bottom pillow. It gives you the benefit of two pillows with out the height.

My aunt got two pillows, but she doesn't like them much. So I kept one in Texas and brought one back to Cali.

It's a two in one pillow, down on one side, memory foam on the other. It is very thick in comparison to other foam pillows. Foam does retain heat more than cotton or feather, a good cotton pillowcase does help a lot. But if you're sensitive to heat, I don't suggest using foam.

Since my aunt worked at a wholesaler that dealt with foam, I've always slept on foam pillows, so it doesn't bother me. I find cotton and down pillows to be way too thin and uncomfortable.

There are standard foam pillows, they're more squishy and soft that memory foam. They also don't get hard and lumpy when it's cold. The standard foam aren't as thick as the memory foam either.

I would suggest trying a few of them, but it might cost you a bit to get the right one.

Here is one that is not too expensive and is traditional :

High reviews too! Normally they are next to the contoured memory foam pillows - just make sure the box says "traditional".

We have a pillow exactly like the one I linked to - DS uses it. I think it is the best pillow in the house, LOL. We all need to update our pillows. I try to do so every couple of years.
