Memorial Day

Does everyone have great plans for Memorial Day?

I unfortunately don't. I am going to work at least through the morning. I am working on a grant and it will be oh so very quiet in the office. I should get most of it done.

I have spent this morning making potato salad and pasta salad so at least tomorrow when I get home we can have a cook-out.

Tomorrow no, just getting summer clothes out is the plan. But today I am off to 2 parties with the family

We actually are in a community band and do a parade with the village here and a ceremony with the American Legion at the local village hall. The community does turn out for this, and it looks like there will be sun, and in the 60s at parade time in the morning. DH, who plays trumpet, will also do taps at the local cemetery ceremony. (I know, not picnics and such, but we think this is important.) Everyone enjoy your holiday please, just take a moment for the reason behind it.

Tomorrow, my dd14 is marching in the parade with her marching band and then down to Dracut for a get together with my folks and neighbors.

Nada. This weekend is turkey hunting, so DH is out doing that, and he takes the boys when they are awake with him (he goes himself about 4 am to get some real hunting time). We are gathering for late lunch barbecue of some sort this afternoon and I am making tandy kakes for that right now.
