How are the crowds during this week? We check in the Saturday before Memorial Day and are staying through the week. I am starting to plan our dining reservations and which days to go to certain parks. Currently I have us at Magic Kingdom on Memorial Day. Is this a bad idea? Should I just use that Monday as a resort day and avoid the parks? Thanks in advance for any advice!

We were there last year starting the day before Memorial Day. It is crowded - similar to later in June. The temps and rain weren't bad though.

Have you looked at this site? It is the one that we use for trips. It does not recommend the MK for Memorial Day. Josh provides his reasoning on recommended parks.

At the top of the page you will see a tab for all of the crowd calendars so you can see June also.

Mondays are always the busiest day at the MK, a holiday just makes it crazier:) I would pick a different park that day and go to the MK another day.

Our worst trip to WDW was a Memorial Day trip many years ago...hot, hot, crowded, crowded and oh did I say it was HOT and CROWDED.

Very hot and very crowded. We moved our vacation time to early May for both reasons.

MDW is not as hot as June, July, or August. Its a busy time, but anytime around the summer will be busy anyway. In the end, its Disney World, and no matter what the crowds are, the experience will be great.

I'd attempt to stay away from MK Memorial Day itself though, but I wouldn't change all my plans around because of it. Kids only have one day off for that holiday and its not even a blackout date. Its crowded, but its not EXTREME.

I am going the Wednesday before Memorial day, so I am getting the parks in Before that weekend starts. It will still be crowded but its whatever. Its Vacation =]

Been many times. Starting Saturday of Memorial Day weekend it will be crowded and continue to be so. It is what it is and if that is your trip make the best of it. Plan carefully because changing FP+ and ADRs last minute may be a wee bit harder to do. Absolutely take advantage of EMH, especially at night (when cooler) if you can. We have enjoyed Epcot on Memorial Day, crowds were always manageable.

Thanks everyone for the info/tips. I decided to change it where we won't be at MK on Memorial Day. Decided to use that day as a pool/resort day and go to 'Ohana for breakfast that morning. We always try and have at least two days where we don't go to the parks so this will work out nicely.

I've been at Disney on Memorial Day the past 4 years, it's my favorite time to go. We usually start the day at one park then hop over to MK that evening for dinner reservations. We also have done a water park during the day and that was fun. I have found that the weekend before is usually more crowded than the actual holiday. Also, the 24 hour event the past few years has been held the Friday before Memorial Day and it is well worth attending.

We went the week leading up to Memorial Day in 2013. The crowds were relatively moderate during the week but were noticeably busier (but still manageable) that Friday and Saturday. We went to Legoland that Sunday (which had surprisingly low crowds) and returned home Memorial Day Monday so I can't say how the crowds in the Disney parks were on those particular days. The weather was great IMO. No rain except for a couple brief sprinkles on that Tues and Wed and the temps were between 83-89 all week. The only really hot day (the 89 degree day) was our AK day (of course ).
