Memorial Day Weekend Crowds

We're trying to plan our 7 night trip for next year and are debating whether or not to arrive the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend or the following Saturday. How are the crowds on Sunday and Monday of Memorial Weekend? I know that the following Saturday is Gay Day, but since Saturday will be a travel day (no parks), it shouldn't be an issue. Any feedback from recent visitors is welcome.

I would suggest if possible planning to arrive the Saturday before. We go to WDW every year in May and find the weather to be great and the parks less crowded then. It tends to be very crowded Memorial Day Week. I hope this helps.

We have been there on several Memorial Day weekends, and it gets very crowded. I could be wrong, but the following week might be Gay Days. If that's the case, it will probably be busy then too.

By the way, we always had a VERY good time on Memorial Day weekend - the parks were open later and the night time parade was always running. It's kind of a trade-off.;)

Bumping up for add'l opinions. Going a week earlier isn't an option since my kids will be in school. I've worked around "Gay Day" crowds before, and if we go the following week it will be a non-Park Travel Day, it shouldn't be an issue. Our actual Park days will be Sun-Fri. My real concern is Sunday and Monday of Memorial Weekend.

We were just there this past Memorial Day. We went to MK on Sunday 5/25 and it was very busy. We went to our PS at CP and then basically left shortly after that. On Memorial Day we spent the day in Epcot and that holds the crowds much better, we had no problems. I think that the big problem is MK. If you can work around that, you will be fine. We still had a great time and I would go again at that time.

We were, also, just there this past Memorial Day and I would like to thank everyone for NOT going to the MK on Monday. We went that day because we always do the MK on Mondays. The crowds were actually not too bad that day. Granted we didn't do the big rides because we were doing an e-ticket night on Tuesday, but I was still very surprised that it wasn't *that* crowded. We really enjoyed our day. :sunny:

HELP!

I'm trying to decide (because I have AP's that will be activated this December and I want to get lots of use out of them!!!) if we should plan a LONG weekend next MEMORIAL day weekend...

We'd arrive Friday morning, May 28, and stay through Wednesday, June 2 and leave in the evening that day.

We usually go in the Fall. I know it will be more crowded but HOW bad? Will we enjoy ourselves?

Maybe we can enjoy the resort more on the weekend and go to MK on a weekdays??

HELP!

I'd go. Crowds can be bad, but are do-able and that is really just in regards to MK. That is the only really bad park as far as crowds. If there would be a e-night scheduled during your stay, I would take advantage of that to do the big rides and just make sure that you are there as the gate opens for MK to do Fantasyland, if need be. I wouldn't not go to Disney just because of the holiday, just do a little more planning! You'll have a great time ;)

We went this past Memorial Day week, arriving on Sunday. We spent Memorial Day in Epcot and it wasn't bad. DS went to TT at 10:45 and used the singles line, about 15 minutes. Never waited longer than that for TT all week. Tuesday morning went to MK and it was OK. Matter of fact, thinking back, we didn't use FP all week because stand-by lines weren't too bad. The only busy times were the two Enites that week (although my last Enite was in early January, FREEZING, so I've been spoiled). DS waited almost 1/2 hour for SM during Enite, and BTMRR was about 15 minutes. Splash, however, my favorite, was only a few minutes, as was HM.
