With a one high school calendar and two college calendars to try to work around it has been hard to pick vacation dates. We settled on May 27-June 4. I knew that it would be busy, but now that easywdw's crowd calendar came out I'm starting to second guess everything. It looks like our May park days are "9"s and "8" crowd level days. I'm assuming when June comes out it will be about the same.
Has anyone had a trip around these dates? How was it?
I have been to Disneyland in the summer, but all of our Disney World park days have been "7" or lower. Just wondering what we are getting in to....

We were there from May 26th - june 4th in 2014. It is, by far, my favorite time to go. The weather was gorgeous and the crowds were very manageable - we never had to wait more than 30 minutes for anything (although that probably has more to do with having a good plan than crowd levels.)

I would not hesitate to go during that time again.

I have the same school setup that you do - 1 in high school and 2 in college. We went the week of Memorial Day this year (May 23-May 30). As Alesia said, the weather was gorgeous! Only rained for a few minutes 1 day. Crowds were very manageable. We worked the FP+ and didn't have big waits. Perfect time to go!

That is a relief to hear! It seemed like our best option to pick. We go with my family, husband and two boys, and my parents and three siblings. Their schedules are harder to plan around than ours. All three schools have different calendars :headache:. Now I'm ready to finalize the room reservation and start planning :)

Oh, and if you want to go to the waterparks - they were practically empty in the mornings. There were literally less than 50 people waiting at the gates when they opened.

We've done that week twice now (2013 g 2015). Crowds are high but it truly depends on what you want to see to determine how difficult the crowds will be. Two main things usually happen around that time of the year. 1st is Star Wars Weekends in Hollywood Studios. Crowds will be very high during these days compared to the same park earlier in the week. If you like Star Wars even just casually, I'd highly recommend it though. It is a great time & that's coming from a non-SW fan. 2nd is the 24-hour day at Magic Kingdom. Crowds can vary throughout the day in this event, but generally speaking during what would be considered normal park hours are the heaviest. Off hours that are opened for this occasion tend to have lighter crowds. Personally, we did it this year & probably wouldn't bother again unless they added more to it.

We arrived memorial in 2013 and I was afraid it would be really crowded and was surprised it wasn't that bad after all. It wasn't light crowds but it wasn't crowded either. We did use easywdw crowd calendar to pick our parks. The only day that I think he was wrong on was MK but that park is the most popular and usually crowded. The weather was pretty nice, I remember my granddaughter actually wore a jacket our first night because it was little chilly. But most days would get pretty hot in the middle of the day around 90. Of course you afternoon storms would pop up but not lasting long.

Glad to hear the water parks won't be too packed. I was planning a BB day. We went to this past July for a water park only trip and loved it!
I'm sure we will have a good time, no matter what. I will plan our days around crowd calendars and keep my fingers crossed for FPs. We are staying off site at Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa so that puts us at a disadvantage for the FP, but the nice 4 bedroom suite is worth it! I was wondering about the weather too. We live in southeast Alabama, so we are use to the heat and humidity. With that being said, I know how miserable summer is down here, and never wanted to go in the summer months. Our last trip, November 2014, it rained on our HS day. It ended up being one of the best days we had. The park cleared out and we stayed til close. So I'll pack the ponchos and hope for the best ;)

I would go again Memorial Day week without a worry. I think it is a good time to go if you have to go in when school is not in session. We went in August this year and I think Memorial day week was not as hot and stormy.
