Memorial Day Week, or Late June?

We have reservations at the VWL for June 5-12. Now, due to events beyond my control, we can't go that week. I'm wondering if it would be better to move them to the day DD gets out of school, May 26, staying until June 3, (this puts us there Memorial Day wekend), or wait and go the 3rd week in June?

I'm worried about the crowds around the holiday, but I also know that it rains more later in June.

Anyone have any input?
Thanks!

*Don't you just hate when other people mess up plans you've had for months? GRRR!*

Memorial Weekend itself is pretty darn crowded....so I'm not sure what to tell you. I think if it were me I'd go in June. June crowds can be larger, but I don't think as large as the holiday weekend. Anyone else???

I'd take the earlier dates b/c a lot of schools are not out yet. We also never had a lot of rain when we went that week but have had lots later in the summer. I would plan to do most of my MK touring on weekdays, though.

You're in luck - this is when we usually take our yearly week long trip. We usually go the Saturday before Memorial Day and return the following Saturday.

I would highly recommend you go during this time as opposed to late June. Yes, the crowds are a bit high on that first weekend and Memorial day itself - but only at the Magic Kingdom really! For the rest of the week it's what I would call a moderate crowd - maybe even low at all parks but MK. Now, late June the crowds pick up. A lot of school systems don't let out until mid-June so If you go memorial week you're safe as far as that's concerned.

Plus, the large Brazilian groups who can be quite loud and obnoxious start coming in around late June. I swear to you I'm certainly not upset because they are Brazilian - it's just that they are loud!!!!

Oh - one more thing. If you go memorial week you'll catch the tail-end of the International Flower & Garden Festival. It's a beautiful time of year to visit.

Have fun whatever you decide.

I would also suggest late may/early june....with the exception of the holiday weekend, the rest of your stay will have light to moderate crowds.....the crowds REALLY start to pick up at disney around the 3rd week in June....

Thanks for all of your replies!

I am now leaning towards the end of May. I called DVC to see what the availability is, and that time is more flexible, leading me to believe that it will be less crowded then. Plus, I would really love to catch the Flower & Garden Festival. I have been during that before & loved it!

Also, now that you mention the Brazillian tour groups, I have had encounters with these tour groups before, and they are in fact VERY loud! I had forgotten that this occurs in June. Does "ESPACO" ring any bells? Nothing like 200 teenagers in matching tshirts getting line for a ride right before/behind you!
Teehee. :)
