Memorial Day: Special Celebrations or Events?

Around/on Memorial Day are there any special events or celebrations that happen in any of the parks? We'll be there before and during the Memorial Day crowds. Is there anything special we should see, if not anyone have any tips on avoiding the crowds during this busy time?
