We had to skip WDW this year (just other trips planned) so will have almost 1,400 points for use in 2026. Our adult family of 4 was considering DVC Sorcerers passes at 75 pts each per the email this week - saves us the $$$ out of pocket and helps eat up some of the extra points we are carrying.

Am I crazy to think this way? It almost feels too good to be true given our situation.... which makes me think I am missing some huge disadvantage right in front of my nose

If the cost is $1079, then you are basically getting $14-$15pp. You can likely rent for more than that, but after taxes, etc it may be easier to just go through Disney and exchange for an AP.

For ease and simplicity 75pts per AP is a welcome option. Great for a situation like yours where you have extra points. In one transaction you can trade them for 4 APs. Boom - done! Doesn’t require another moment’s thought.

With Sorcerer Pass costing $1155 after tax, that’s like getting $15.40 per point.

For ease and simplicity many people rent excess points through brokers, often at $16pp. It would require many extra steps, time and complications if in the end they just wanted to get APs with those proceeds. The MBB offer seems a really great option compared to this.

But some people take the time and effort to rent out their excess points for $20pp or even $25pp, sometimes more. They might decide renting is still worth it. The extra time and effort spent can get them APs and some cash compared to using MMB.

You may also be able to get a$75 gift card for each AP you get if the offer is still available which would make it worth it.

If your crazy, so am I, because I was thinking the same thing-using points for an Annual Pass. I admit I didn't do it in the end, but I still think it's a good idea. I'm not currently a MMB Member, so when the $75 gift card offer came along, I took that (and got my gift card within about 1-2 hours). Maybe I'll go for the AP with points offer in the future.

So if you guys are crazy, I must be in the right place! I went with Membership Magic Beyond just for the AP benefit. In fact just renewed my 2 passes this week! super simple process. Fair warning, however. I received 2 emails for each renewal, looking like they doubled banged me on the points. They did not. I just got 2 confirmation emails per renewal. Maybe not the most economical use of points, but it is quick and easy.

The highest and best use of your vacation points will be always to use them book DVC villas for you and your family, but failing that - exchanging them for an annual pass is not a bad use. It is far better than letting them expire or booking bigger accommodations than you need to burn points, that's for sure!

We purchased MBB back in December and renewed our APs in February. Yes, I could have spent countless hours trying to rent the points for a bit more money, but it was so easy and the money we had budgeted towards the renewals felt like bonus money LOL

I was told via my initial call with MS that I could use any points (resale v direct), but when it came time to actually purchase them, they said it had to be our direct points.

Now when booking, I am keeping this in mind when using our direct points in case we want to use them for renewing again next year.
