Back in 98 when we bought l got the mortgage and listed my wife as an associate member. We both got member cards. Now DVC will not issue her a replacement card as an associate. When did dvc start this? I'll have to add her to one of our 4 deeds I guess. This doesn't seem right, she'll be an owner based upon our estate planning but now we have to spend to add her....I know a quit claim to both of us is cheaper, any advice on adding her?..... Thanks

From the member website:
What are the different Member Types and what are their rights and privileges?
Definitions:
A "Purchaser" or "Additional Purchaser" is a person that is named on the deed of the Ownership Interest. Purchasers are also referred to as Club Members. The Primary Purchaser is the first person named on the deed. While a reservation confirmation is normally mailed to the Primary Purchaser, any Club Member may request to receive the reservation confirmation instead of the Primary Purchaser. Additionally, all financial information pertaining to the ownership interest, including Annual Dues Statements and Form 1098 (reporting mortgage interest), will be mailed to the Primary Purchaser. To designate a different Primary Purchaser to receive the financial information mailings, a request must be submitted in writing to Membership Administration and must be signed by all Purchasers. All Purchasers have equal ownership rights and all Purchasers receive Member Cards.

An "Associate" is a person named by the Purchaser or Purchasers who is only authorized to make reservations using the Club Member's Home Resort Vacation Points. Associates do not receive Member Cards and are not entitled to the benefits and privileges that are available to a Club Member. In addition, Associates may not access financial information related to the Annual Dues and/or loan pertaining to the Club Member's Ownership Interest.

If she got a Member Card as an Associate, it was by mistake. Back in 98, they may not have had the same controls in place to not issue Member Cards to Associate Members.

Okay, I understand the policy. Does anyone have any answers to my questions?
