Anyone else on the phone for the Member's Cruise booking today?

My parents are going on the Jan. 2013 sailing (I wish DFi and I were going but we'll just have gotten home from our honeymoon and can't take anymore time off).

We started calling at 8 and finally got through! Their reservation is made but holy cow-- we're pooped! :rotfl: We had four phones going at once and finally my dad got through.

I hope everyone else got confirmed!

Called right at 8:00 and was put on hold by 8:02. I was on hold till 8:41 and finished our phone call with member services at 8:51.
I booked the Jan 2013 cruise class 4D with main dinning for a total of 284 points.

I am happy to say my Christmas shopping for 2012 is about 80% done already!

I made a reservation for September 2012! I have always wanted to try the DVC member cruise. I'm paying for one person and using points for the other.
I waited on hold for about fifteen minutes and then the call itself took about ten minutes to make the reservation.

Booked the Jan 2013 cruise for DH and I in a cat 5d, 2nd dining. Didn't start calling until after 8:30 and the whole process took about an hour.

I'm still so disappointed at the dates for both cruises. The October dates would have actually worked for us but there is no way we can cruise right after the start of the school year and/or shortly after the long winter break. Neither is a good time to pull kids out of school.

I am a new DVC member I have been on 3 other cruises. I expected to wait to book which took about 45 minutes. I expected the prices to be a little higher but from what I found was they were basically equal to the 4 night cruise prices11 plus the tip. I asked for CAT 11. I was also surprised they did not want a deposit which is what I was expecting, instead they wanted a full payment. I guess most people pay with points which I can't do b/c I bought a resale. See below for 2 adults DD(8) DS(2)
11A 345pts or $2418
11B 343pts or $2400
11C $2384 forgot to right down the pts

I was quite surprised.

I called about twenty minutes ago and got right in to a cast member. The whole process took about 15 minutes from start to finish and I am book on a category 11b for the January cruise.

I've always wanted to see the Dream and this will be my chance. I'm usually down at Disney at that time of the year, so I will make sure that my vacation dates include the cruise. I'm pretty excited.

When I checked the cost between actual cost for my points vs the cash, it was a couple hundred "dollars" cheaper to use my points, so I did.

It took about 2 hours, but we are booked on the September cruise. We wanted a catagory 7-ended with catagory 5d. Can't wait! Hubby and I will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary.

We booked the Sept cruise too. DH and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary as well.

We called right at 8 as well. Booked the September cruise, cat 8C. It did take around 50 minutes to complete the reservation.. This will be our first DCL cruise.

Called yesterday and booked a 5b for the January 2013 cruise! Couldn't believe there were still rooms available!

Have fun on the Cruise next year!!!

I wonder how many Staterooms are left on both ships?

Gosh, I've been on vacation and forgot all about the Member Cruise. So they did allow people to book who didn't buy from them!

I called yesterday to change my Jan reservations, and there is a recording before you get connected with MS stating there are still rooms available on the cruises. Seems as if adding the second cruise has made it easier to book.

We had planned to book the January member's cruise on 12/11 but got "the call" that my father in law wasn't expected to live through the weekend on 12/10 and made a quick 3 hr trip to the city where they live. We went to lunch on 12/11 after spending the night at the nursing home on watch with family members and I told DH that I thought it was probably a "sign" that we weren't meant to go on the cruise after all, since we were too concerned with DFIL's health and DMIL's well being to make the call in the morning. Bless his heart, he said, we might as well call anyway just to see what happened.

So I made the call, sitting there in the restaurant, got right through, and minutes later we were booked (either a category 5D or 6D, I don't remember this very moment) for our first Disney cruise! (DH says it was our most expensive lunch out ever!) DFIL passed a few days later, but it was after a long and full life and lengthy battle with Parkinson's and dementia, and I know he wouldn't resent our making plans for a trip next year. In a way, it will give us a reason to think about him while we're there. We took DFIL and DMIL along on our 2nd Disney trip (before DVC) and although DMIL wasn't impressed (go figure!) we will always have that trip as part of our Disney memories with them.

My DMom, who passed this fall, always said that we should do our traveling while we were still young enough to enjoy it, and I think DFIL would agree. So even though it's a little bit bittersweet, we have a trip to anticipate. I guess calling later in the day meant I didn't have to sit on hold for hours, and I agree that adding the second sailing probably did help with the congestion. So I guess maybe it was just meant to be!
