We are contemplating booking on the members cruise for 2007, (we made the cut). What makes this cruise special? It's more points and no ports of call. Any info from past cruisers would be appreciated, thanks.

Don't know the answer to your question...We didn't make the cut :sad2: but am glad that you did... :woohoo:

From what I've read it's the meet and greets that are fun. I know they also have special one of a kind gifts etc...

Here is the trip report from the last member cruise:

We sailed on both SSMC05 & SSMC06 and have no plans to sail on another member cruise as of this time. My own opinioin is that SSMC05 was absolutely fantastic, SSMC06 was a huge let down. If you read the trip report, you will see that I wasn't the only disappointed in how DVC handled the details of the cruise. I walked off this years cruise feeling as if DVC didn't want us back next year. Although their new booking procedures didn't exclude any repeat cruisers from cruising again, they certainly didn't give us any advantage either.

There are some people who feel the member cruise is great for the entertainment alone. I can't say that I felt that way. While it was a great experience to sail with Roy Disney and hear his presentation (even if it was scripted by Jim Lewis), none of the other presentors appealled to me or my family.

Our plan is to sail on a longer, 7 day cruise with the DIS friends we made on the member cruise. We'll have a fantastic time together, have a longer cruise, and spend just about the same money.

Best of luck with whatever you decide is best for you. pixieidust:
